Lol either way it's definitely great shot placement and everything in between. It's actually hard for me to shoot that close my sights don't like it.

Good reasoning. I will definitely keep all of the previous information posted in the back of my mind.

Just out of curiosity if you don't mind. Can you share your load data? RMR doesn't provide load data and I'm curious what to use as a starting point. I have a good idea where to start but if you have a good starting point I would definitely consider it.
I use LEE reloading manual as they seem to have more load data and testing across several similar bullets than anyone.

I've been meaning to buy a lee manual. The bullets arrived yesterday in the mail. I have been digging through my load data trying to come up with good starting point for my work up.

I loaded up 25 rounds today, using 2400, 12.5-14.5 gr. at .5 gr. increments. OAL set at 1.590".

I used Lee's taper crimp. Crimped case mouth to .375". If I went down to .374", the case wall started to buckle. These are new Starlines. I may need to polish the crimp die some.

I've got everything I need ready to go just waiting on the taper crimp die to be delivered. I think I found a good starting point now.

The crimp die was scheduled to be delivered today but the mail delivery has already been here today and it was not in the mailbox. Hopefully Monday. I feel like a kid waiting to open presents.

Weird, yea, try polishing the die, a true taper crimp die should be hard to buckle a case with.

Dumb question: when you order a 158gr bullet or whatever weight what is considered consistent? My OCD kicked in and figured how many cases I would need and I weighed them to get the amount I needed. I figured I needed 35 cases so l spent an hour digging through my in fire star line cases to find a group of 35 that were within .02gr of my found average.

I spent probably another 2 hours weighing bullets within .02 gr of each other. My average bullet weight so far is off well over a full grain +. I don't usually do this kind of comparison. Am I too OCD or what?

LOL. All I want to do is a single work up and find the best load I can. Once I get a good steady work up I feel like shooting off hand is what it is and I can be happy that I did my best.

I use all range brass in .357 Mag, lots of different headstamps, just trim, debur, chamfer, and have never weighed any .357 bullets other than to confirm they are what the box says.

Pick a powder, try a couple of charge weights, get into the velocity I want, see if it shoots well. Rinse and repeat.

Berrys 148 Gr DEWC over a light charge of Competition in .357 Mag brass. Light taper crimp.
Chrono at 5 yards, target at 7 yards, getting numbers and checking accuracy potential.

I try my hardest to not be so weird about things. The one time I tried to not be so into it when I switched to my new press I ended up with a bullet stuck in the barrel. So now I'm back to being overly cautious.

I got my taper crimp die in the mail today. Yesterday I went through all of the cases I pre selected for my work up. I primed and expanded the case mouths. I will probably load 35 cases in tenth gr increments (5 each).

Today after opening up the crimp die I put it in the press and made a dummy load. So if tomorrow goes to plan which is uninterrupted after work time I will be set up to start this work up.

It's kind of funny this gp 100 has never seen factory ammo or a jacketed bullet. Or full on magnum loads for that matter.

Good catch. I thought the primer setup was empty. I almost set that case aside. It's actually a federal though. All of them but the one are match primers.

My batches of cast 158s are about .5 grains of spread. If your bullets are factory I would switch brands. Batch to batch are not that consistant due to my chemistry skills lacking.
