Has anyone heard of this?

I asked my FFL friend if he could order some .40 cal ammo for me. HE stated that his supplies told him all .40 was on back order because the Dept of Homeland ordered an ungodly amount (I forget how much he said but it was huge) to stock pile, although they currently do not issue .40's to there agents.
so it may be a while.

is this BS or is there something to this?

Not trying to cause a stink, just wondering???

Thanks

I would be surprised, .40 seems about the only caliber that's still readily available. However some of our distributors have been saying for awhile that federal agencies are buying a lot. An article I just read yesterday stated (not sure on the source) that federal agencies are still the #1 purchaser of ammo followed by LE and civilians.

The question isn't why do the people need all this ammo but why does the government? In many cases we're not talking the military that's over seas but home based agencies.

Not sure if y'all have been following it but the DHS has orders and order contingencies for 1.6 BILLION rounds of hollow point .40 S&W mostly. This raises some questions for many of us.

1. HPs are forbidden by the Geneva Convention. DHS is obviously not at war because it is a domestic agency. So who would they be using 1.6 Billion rounds of hollow point ammo on?

2. DHS is not necessarily receiving 1.6 Billion rounds of ammo, they have a stock-market like futures options with all of the major ammo manufacturers. So at the stroke of pen, they can basically tie up the major ammo manufacturers for months or years, making it so that the manufacturers cannot produce for the civilian market. A lot of observers think this may play into Dear Leader's administration using this as a form of gun control. As we all know, if there is no ammo, guns become expensive paperweights.

3. 1.6 billion rounds is enough ammo to fight an Afghanistan-like war with the military for 10 months. Since the DHS is not at war, why on earth would they need or want so much ammunition?

You can draw your own conclusions about what our government is up to, but this, coupled with the acquisition of thousands of tank-like heavy vehicles with multiple machine-gun turrets, several thousand full auto capable PDWs means that the DHS will be a well-equipped military machine within our borders. It seems as if they are geared up to inflict mass casualties and wage war within on borders. Makes you wonder who they plan to use all of these new toys on and why the DHS needs to be so powerful and well armed?

I've read this recently, and am wondering if the media has even done a piece on it? For that matter, for all those who have done some research on it, have they contacted their senator or congressmen to inquire?
I'd think this would be right up some of their alleys, someone like Rand Paul for instance.

This seems awfully familiar, doesn't it? :scrutiny: A popular and duly elected leader with essentially his own private army and no respect for the limits on his power. With that kind of firepower on tap and the ability to go after citizens simply by labeling them "terrorists" (no civil rights apply) based on sketchy information that is secret anyway, what could possibly go wrong? Now all he needs is a group of citizens to demonize, right? Every usurper needs an enemy within--a cause for which to rally everybody else to his side and increase his power. I wonder who that could be.... :uhoh:

This has already been discussed in numerous threads and despite many reasonable explanations, it apparently can't be discussed without the conspiracy theorists crawling out of the woodwork.
