40 S&W, 7 grains Longshot, 165 gr Ranier = good load

I loaded a batch with this recipe today and took them out to the range. Recoil was mild, accuracy was great, this is a good load and clean burning.

I think Hodgdon is optimistic about their velocites, at least with the 165's. 7.3 grains is the minimum load for jacketed bullets, with a claimed velocity of 1139 fps. I'm getting right at 1000 fps from my 4" XD-40 with 7 grains.
