Bullet Bob, that's one of the most unusually good looking revolvers I've ever seen. Very interesting.
saber, since I swore to finally get a BODYGUARD, now I'm looking at the 296, etc. with renewed interest.
I wonder how I could get a 'shrouded hammer' on one on those!
Thanks for the compliments on the Reeder
I basically sent Gary my 44mag Vaquero and had him put a freefloat cylinder, octagon barrel and bisley hammer on it and refinish it. It's amazing and has the best trigger I've felt on a Ruger. I mainly shoot specials out of it and the occaisional magnum if I'm feeling masochistic. here's some more pics
Lou22,
That's one beautiful snubby you have there. For rubber grips, although they're slightly bigger than the boot grips, you might check out Pachmayr Compacts or Hogue grips.
If you find the recoil of your lightweight .44 a bit stout, you might try using Glaser .44 Specials for serious social work and public sanitation. The Glaser has a lighter charge, but velocity to make up the difference.
I tried them in .357 and thought for sure they were squib loads until I examined the targets (various water filled containers)!
As a plus, there were no exit holes, and riccochet factor is very low with the prefragmented projectile.
My grips were a little too long for carry and they were very slick. So I did some customizing. I shortened the grip, and used a dremel to create more of a texture. I also refinshed them in a walnut stain. I like how they have an old rustic look. Here are some before and after pics.
Before After
Here's a picture of my Galco carry rig. The holster is a customized speed master. The leather I removed made it difficult to holster and was causing it to print through my shirt. It's much better now.
