.45 ACP Carbine Recommendation

I am still awaiting an attractive bullpup in .45ACP (or 9mm), but if I were to buy one now it would be a Uzi. :)

I holded a new mpa 45 acp pistol once. It was heavy as heck. Nothing but tons of steel. I wanted to build a 45 mac-10. I even started buying parts for it but it would of taken me to long to get all the parts and after I holded a complete one I didn't like it. I think a 9mm one would be much lighter. DSA makes a nice 9mm pistol. I think it's part polymer but I don't know how reliable it is. It looks like a steyr TMP but without the front pistol grip.

I'd settle for that, but I still maintain that .30Carbine would be the perfect round for the PS90. :)

Olympic AR-45 upper, Cavalry arms polymer lower, 30-round grease gun magazines. Going with an Olympic upper and a standard lower means you have to use one of the welded .45 cal Uzi magazines which are as rare as unicorns these days.

My boss loaned me his Mech Tec chambered in .460 Rowland. It shoots .45ACP's just fine. When you want the power of the .460 Rowland it's there also. He has a Red Dot Lazer sight mounted on it and it is easy to use. I hinted to my wife that the .460 Rowland Mech Tec would be a good Christmas present.;)

On the MechTech's... is the assembly as easy as changing slides as normal? or is it more intensive than that. I noticed on the website that they mentioned having a dedicated lower, and that to me makes it a bit unattractive.

The great part (I hope) of their concept is to be able to interchange between std 1911 and the CCU without use of tools and within about 20 seconds.

Someone was making a conversion kit for the USC so it could accept 30rd grease gun mags -- that looked pretty cool to me, but for the same price or less, you can get an Oly upper and a Cav AR lower and build your own .45 carbine and then you can easily swap to another upper, etc. That's why I couldn't justify the cost of the USC personally.

I seen a real u.s. marshal on tv with a short barrel upc 45 by h&k. It had a high cap mag on it. I still think the kriss super v in full auto will out shoot anything out there right now as far as a carbine goes in pistol caliber. I wouldn't want a semi auto one though unless it was a 9mm. They are a beast in semi auto unless you shoot rapid fire.

15guns, first off there is a little button on the bottom right of your posts...says "edit"...please use it. As far as the carbine, I am pretty sure it is a Heckler and Koch USC (pictured in post No. 36)...but it may have a UPC (universal product code) if it is airsoft. The HK will run about $1500.00USD new. :)

UPC hahahahaa! KRISS Super V is semi-auto and comes in carbine length and SBR and I don't think you'll be getting full auto unless you get that special thumbs up from Uncle Sam.... I don't think the Super V will out shoot all pistol cal carbines, it does drasticly reduce recoil but in semi it will not give that much of an advantage, maybe a second or two when reaquiring the site picture.

Agreed WRT the KRISS's effectiveness compared to other pistol caliber carbines...the only advantage it offers is when used as designed...with FA. :)

Auto Ordnance 1927A1 - 30 shot mags or a 50 rd drum

I'm a big of magazine compatibility (esp. in a PCC), and since the Mechtech upper and Camp 45 were mentioned, the other 1911 magazine using carbine that "I" think is super cool.

You can do the conversion, or I think they'll build it up for you. Your tastes may be completely different. Honestly, I'd go with a Camp 45 over any of the others.

I use a Contender action with a 26-inch SSK stainless .45 ACP bull barrel. The sight is a C-More 2 MOA dot. It works like a champ and was fairly inexpensive until I added a Bullberry Bastogne walnut stock set to it.

1500 bucks for a H&K USC 45 acp? That's cheap. Cheaper than a Kriss super V even. Kriss is over 1700 bucks new.

I like my HK USC, the only downside is you can only get 10 round mags for them. But it is very accurate and reliable.

I like my HK USC as well. It's also quiet.

There are 20 round mags made for it, but they are on the expensvie side ($120) and being single stack the mag is very long making the carbine look like a pogo stick. I find the ten round mags to be just fine. Twenty rounds of .45is pretty heavy and with ten rounds the USC is light and quick handling. For an extended mag 15 rounds would be about perfect. With the ten rounders they can be mag cinched togther for those needing more capacity with a relatively quick change.
