The Good Book is on the side of the .45 - probably the 1911. How do I know? Psalm 45. Here's a few excerpts:

"In your majesty ride forth victoriously, in behalf of truth, humility, and righteousness; let your right hand display awesome deeds." - Two World Wars, and then some.

"Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet." - God doesn't worry about overpenetration, he uses FMJ.

"...therefore God, your God, has set you above all your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy." - God doesn't use grease, he uses oil... but not rem-oil.

"I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever." - what gun is still one of the most popular designs?

And verse 11 (as in: 1911) says:
"The king is enthralled by your beauty." - you know it's so.

Therefore the .45 vs 9mm debate is at an end.

P.S. Psalm 9 seems to suggest that 9mm is a good zombie caliber, but a poor stopper.
"My enemies turn back, they stumble..." - no one-shot stops.
"The wicked return to the grave." - zombies can be defeated.

By that logic the 38 special might give you a rather undesirable infection.

From Psalm 38 "For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh." ;)

God speaks to me from time to time and I beg of him daily.

However, we have not got around to discussing bullets, nor has he given me any winning lottery numbers.

Living in the South most of my life and around a lot of fundamentist types, I have heard a lot of interesting interpetations of the scriptures but this is is new ground for me.

You, sir, owe me a new keyboard. :D
oh great. when I think the gun guys can't get any weirder.
When have we not been weird? :neener: Just for fun, search for the "pointy stick vs. .30-06" thread from a while back, if you think this is weird.

God also supports mil-surps. "...if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one..."

Everyone knows only a good milsurp has a bayonet worth buying and using. :p

Hmmm. I have a few friends that quote biblical scriptures quotations to describe most anything or event. Guess I'll have to ask a few of them about pistol calibers and see what they say, especially concerning my .357 magnum:rolleyes:

"And on the 7th Day; he reloaded."

Or at least that's how it should have read, I always thought the 7 days of creation seemed mighty conveinient; Six-shots in the average Revolver after all.

God's a Cannoneer.

But wait, lets hear some excerpts from psalm 9!

"When my enemies turned back, the stumbled and perished before you. For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne giving righteous judgement."

"You have rebuked nations, you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever and ever."

References that can be interpreted as directed to both the civilian carrier and the nations that adopted the cartridge under NATO and outlasted their communist enemies.

"For the needy shall not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor perish forever."

Obviously a reference to the affordability of 9mm guns and ammunition.

Well, as a fan of the .357, I had to do a little extra research here. Lo and Behold, Psalm 35 verse 7 is very interesting.

"...without cause they have dug pits to kill me."
An obvious reference to the deep penetration, and wound/crush cavity caused by the .357 mag.

You guys might just make a believer out of me.

One question though, do bullet holes make one holy? :D

Hmmm...haveta reevaluate the whole .38 snubby in the thunderwear concept....

Psalm 19:11 from the Catholic Douay-Rheims translation: "More to be desired than gold and many precious stones: and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb."

My godless, atheistic, nihilist philosophy has this to say:

Existence is essentially pointless.
Shot placement, however, is not. It matters.

As for the .38 spl and crotch rot, I think you guys may be mistaken. You see, the .38 is really .357 caliber. It's not G-d's fault that clever marketing types misnamed the cartridge. Therefore, I believe the .38 spl ought to get the same respect as the .357 magnum.

My Rabbi would be proud.

Well, then I'll have to get all compassionate humanist on you and argue that you must not inflict upon your fellow man undue suffering. Therefore use enough gun!
