They did.

The Smith & Wesson SW99 (licensed copy of P99 with the frame built by Walther) was available in .45ACP.

Owned both, ended up selling the Glock. Love the LEM.

Looking at the poll results it seems like the H&K P30 is a clear favorite and rightfully so.
