Yes sir, they most assuredly do, I think it's 10 +1 though. Don't know if that makes a difference
Would it be possible to cut one down to officer size?

I basically want a set of 4 carry guns, all matte stainless(or at least looks like stainless) with matching grips. An NAA Guardian .380, a Kahr Mk9, __________, and an Ed Brown Kobra Carry. See my logic? .380, 9mm, .40, .45, incremental increases in size and capacity.

"How reliable is it?" should be at least as good as any other Springfield (which is pretty danged good, SA seems to have concentrated on 1911 reliability over accuracy)
"Will it take other 1911 parts?" a very few. pretty much sights and grips, IIRC.
"Can I get magazines w/o the "slam pad"?" probably. personally, I like slam pads.
"What is it's ammo capacity? " I think 7+1 in 9 and 6+1 in .40

RAP-440. Paid $200 for mine about five years ago. I'd shoot it more if it was 9mm (cheaper ammo), but its size is very nice, but being all steel its very heavy.

I still see them at shows from time to time. Getting mags are an issue. I was lucky mine works fine with the Pro-Mag Astra A75 mags, but many don't. Single stack keeps the grips svelte.

--wally.

I really wish they'd make a "full-size" EMP (4 or 5 inch barrel).

+1 on this, big time. Take the current gun and change nothing but for a 4 1/2" tube/slide, and I'm trading something from my collection up.
