I've just recently started looking into 1911 parts, with the intent to finally build my own 1911. And noticed something that I think is very odd.

Lots of places offer 7" 1911 barrels. I can't find a single place that offers a 7" 1911 slide to go with it! Does anyone know a place that offers 7" slides for custom 1911s?

Disclaimer: There's no practical purpose for this 1911, other than the fact I always enjoyed putting things together... model planes, model robots, computers, etc. It'll likely become my equivalent of a BBQ gun.

Is it one of those the barrel sticks out the end further deals by chance?

I want to build a long-slide 10mm. I might consider a longer one for that.

Fusion firearms has some really nice pieces, especially for the longslide folks. I want to convert my Springfield GI to a 6". I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
