The barrel is twelve inches long.

In the movie, in context, the line is supposed to add to the sliminess of the character that says it.

Now, as for a holster, I probably won't get one made . . . But if I did, I'd probably get an over the shoulder scabbard like that for a pistol gripped shotgun.

An exceptionally bad idea... There's good reason to keep body parts behind the front of the cylinder.
 
16" barrel with a picatinny rail near the frame, where the stock would connect. Then some sort of mechanism to brace the stock at the back of the grip. Both hands would still be on the pistol grip.

This is purely hypothetical, but I often like to ruminate on neat and odd things.
