The barrel is twelve inches long.

In the movie, in context, the line is supposed to add to the sliminess of the character that says it.

Now, as for a holster, I probably won't get one made . . . But if I did, I'd probably get an over the shoulder scabbard like that for a pistol gripped shotgun.

I was wondering if it was!

I loved that movie back in the day. I haven't seen it in a while, so I forgot about the gun carried by Joe Piscopo(?).

That is very interesting. I have never fired a revolver with a barrel that long. I wouldn't pass up the opportunity.

"Of coursenow, I have visions of a revolver based carbine in my head. I'm thinking of Ruger's Super Redhawk in 454"

An exceptionally bad idea... There's good reason to keep body parts behind the front of the cylinder.

16" barrel with a picatinny rail near the frame, where the stock would connect. Then some sort of mechanism to brace the stock at the back of the grip. Both hands would still be on the pistol grip.

This is purely hypothetical, but I often like to ruminate on neat and odd things.
