90 Days to get a permit in Florida?

The most I've bought at one time was two, and I think I've done that on three different occasions. On a fourth, I abandoned the transaction because I was at a gun show that was wrapping up, buying from a seller that wasn't local, and the BGC was taking too long (it was for everyone that day.)

When I got mine originally as a non-resident I believe it was 44 days for it to show up in my NJ mailbox, this was in summer 2009. I did everything at the county sheriff's office where I owned a home. Nice people, made it easy.

The wait for the permit I think depends mostly on workload in the state offices once you submit the application package, etc.

If you apply in person, at a DOA office, it's considerably faster. They take prints and photos digitally, at the office,
assuming you are accepted, expect to see your card in the mail in 3-5 weeks. Of course, if you mail it in, expect it to take longer.

I did go to the DOA office in Plantation, FL, it was the closest one. I had an appointment for 3 pm, I got there by 2 pm and they took me because they weren't busy. The entire process took less than 30 minutes, they do have a very organized system I have to say.
