9mm carbine selection need help

looks like the CX4 is a good choice for California, it has one evil feature, the pistol grip and I believe that means it does NOT need the Calif bullet button. I HATE the button!

I see our Turners store has these for $975, and a few local stores are at $899 in .45 or 9mm

and I guess no one makes a 9mm Tommy gun or it would have been mentioned.

When 22LR ammo cost became comparable to my 9mm reloads, I decided to get an AR based carbine. Since I had plenty of Glock magazines, AR carbines based on Glock magazines were looked at and decided on Just Right carbine for following reasons:

- Uses Glock/M&P/1911 magazines with modular magwell swap (and I have plenty of all these magazines)
- 9/357Sig/40/45 Caliber conversion with barrel/bolt/magwell swap
- Ambi bolt/ejection option
- "Take down" tube option for backpack carry
- Uses M4/AR furniture and trigger parts
- California compliant models
- Made in USA

Botach has a good price on them right now.

I plan to purchase a CZ Scorpion EVO, pay $200 to SBR it, and attach the factory side folding stock. I think it will make a dandy 9mm sub gun.

Have you sourced parts to make the scorpion 922r Compliant? Because if those parts are available, I'd be up for another SBR!!

More like "I'm a Cylon!"

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines (that it must be a great tool to stop those walking toasters) but didn't want to say it out loud.

But it appears I just did.

I've always found them easy on the eyes though.

TNW ASR (Aero Survival Rifle)

tnw_zpsoo6e911x.jpg

- Uses Glock Mags
- Very Reliable
- Very Durable (Aluminum and Steel construction)
- Convertible to 40 and 45 (soon to be 22LR and 22 Magnum)
- Quick change barrel
- Easy to mount optics/sights
- Easy to SBR
- Easy to Suppress
- Uses AR furniture
- Sold as a Pistol or Rifle

I sold my Sub 2000 after getting mine...

I just picked up one of these in .40S&W on a trade - mine has the 16" barrel though. I'm going to be converting it to .45ACP in the future, but what are your thoughts on the gun? I'm very interested in hearing from folks who own them as I can't find a whole lot to go on.

Keep in mind that OP lives in California and has limited choices for purchases.

I shot the Just Right carbine in 9mm last night, it is as accurate as the AR-15 in 9mm, but I'd prefer the AR-15. The Just Right has no bolt holdback automatically when empty, you have to rack the bolt manually. Not a big deal, but...

Thinking of converting my 5.5mm AR pistol to 9mm
While I like JR carbine's 9/40/45 barrel/bolt conversions, I am building three PSA 9mm AR carbines on $50 Anderson lowers ($499 and Father's day free shipping so $550 total each carbine) - http://palmettostatearmory.com/inde...-9mm-1-10-melonite-rifle-kit-no-magazine.html

I will be using AR Stoner stainless steel magazines sold by MidwayUSA ($18-$19) based on good reviews over steel Promag and lower cost than Metalform magazines.

Someone used to sell the Battlestar Galactica flash suppressor: http://mfiap.com/i-7832697-mfi-battle-star-galactica-barrel-shroud-for-beretta-cx4-storm-9mm.html

I liked the feel of the carbine, hated the plastic sights.

I've enjoyed shooting a full auto Uzi in a variety of calibers, it handles differently with the long barrel but that is THE carbine to SBR. (Sure it's heavy and clunky but it's one of those just right type weapons.)

You get a lot more pop from the 30 Carbine than a 9mm in the same sized carbine.

I ordered a Colt AR6951 last week just to use as a trainer, the 9mm won't screw up my steel targets, and as it's the same controls as my LE6920, I'll get the biggest benefit from spending time with it.

As others pointed out I can reload 9mm pretty cheaply and components are actually easier to find then .22LR these days.
