could have gotten a great deal on a berretta storm in 45acp. When I checked into mag availability and costs I passed. 2 or 3 high capacity mags costs as much as they wanted for the gun. That and they look like Johnny Quests ray gun!!!

It's a start...

Need to find a suitable upper half and a magazine loader.. those things are stiff after 20 rounds!

Get the Lula magazine loader. It's strong and simple. My 9 year old daughter uses it with ease! Maglula.com

Try a Chiappa M1-9 Citadel

The Chiappa M1-9 Citadel is a wonderful M-1 Carbine with sufficient modifications to take Beretta 92 / M-9 magazines and shoot 9mm. I love mine. I also like the Beretta Storm Carbine, but the Chiappa just looks and feels neat. Really nice balance! Yeah, I know a lot of people have had problems with them, but I've had a good time with mine.

Dog Soldier, I have read all of the previous replies to the post and you have an interesting specimen. Thanks for sharing the info. I think I might also like one such as you have.

It comes under Level II as per NIJ standards.

Welcome to THR.

I don't think anyone is much worried about armor standards (if that is what you are referring to) when thinking about pistol caliber carbines. Even years ago, when you could get steel bullets that went through soft armor, there was still a problem. Once the armor was pierced, the bullet had little energy left.

Are you Alice B.? PM me if so. :)
