Simple question, how available is the 9mm Largo compared to the Mak? Seems newly manufactured 9mm Mak is everywhere, is Largo produced by anyone?

Also, any opinions on the Star Modelo Super?

I think the Modelo Super is a neat pistol.

But I fear that 9mm Largo ammunition is pretty much gone. We don't have Spanish Nationalists to sell it to us as we have our friends who used to be our enemies cranking out Communist calibers.

I know they do.
If you don't like that source you can get the stuff from AimSurplus and J&G Sales.
They get it from Surplus International too.

Although Makarov is rising in price, it is a plentiful cartridge and made by a number of factories. Surplus Largo is drying up and future surplus imports are doubtful. New Largo ammo might be available from small specialty producers, but you're out of luck if you're on a budget or like to shoot a lot. If you must choose one, go with the Mak.

If you're shooting a Star or Llama in 9mm Largo, you can reload .38 Super brass to .38 ACP power levels, and it will most likely work just fine. Do not shoot .38 Supers in the guns.
