Mark54g, if I'm not mistaken the P-series are only available in aluminum and plastic frames. They're fine, excellent, rugged, all-American pistols though.
doubleg, if you like the Beretta go for it. The 'brunition' finish is OK and seems durable from what I've seen. As zachsm said, you can save money with a regular 92FS/M9 or a Stoeger(division of Beretta with a factory in Turkey) Cougar. If you want the M9A1 specifically, go for it.
