RPRNY.. I know! That's so irritating to hear isn't it? Perhaps she realizes the guy might just know which guns better suit her needs and allows him to present some options to her! She's smart... and stubborn enough not to accept something unless she indeed wants to use it. She's asking for an educated response on what may be suitable. Believe me... she'll make up her own mind!

I would suggest a RIA 1911 in 9mm. Single stack. You're not going to find anything closer to a 1911 than a 1911. If I hadn't of accidentally bumped into a great deal on a S&W Mod. 908, I'd have purchased one for my wife... because she asked me to choose one!!

I love my Kimber Solo and I would suggest that or the Kimber Micro 9mm, but the Springfield EMP looks like what you are looking for.

I have two P938 SAS Sigs. Though short in pull, the triggers are quite heavy.

...which is a good thing for a carry pistol, IMO. BTW, my EDC is a P938 Extreme.
