Well,
I'm new here but must say that I was deeply disappointed that the "Savage Nation" thread was shut down but I will abide and not relive it. I will however, say that it did open up to an idea that it illustrated so well. Let me explain:
If you listen to the (Liberal) Media or read the news papers you would be led to believe that this country is divided right down the middle on the issues of this nation. The "Savage Nation" thread was more the norm of the nation and a perfect example of such. The nation IS divided on issues but it's more like 80% for, 10% against and 10% undecided. What this country is divided on more than anything is George Bush being in the White House.
Many might think that having someone in the White House that was actually accomplishing what they set out to do for the most part and making things happen would make veryone happy, but not so. If a Republican is in office accomplishing and making things happen then the opposition looks bad and they can't allow that to happen, country be damned.
What I find amazing are the arguements used to defend all these positions. Common sense (if a person has any), even without the aid of facts, will tell you where these things will end up if brought to fruition.
In conclusion I will reiterate that the country may be divided on G.W. but not on the issues at hand. Those against the issues are in the minority but paint a really big picture of lots of people behind them to give that illusion. I take comfort in knowing that my rights will remain in tact despite the opposition to them by those that would take away their own rights just to restrict me. It is truly amazing...but not suprising.
Thank you. Thank you. I'll be playing here all week
