Fitting a new safety is pretty dang easy. I do them in about 15-20 min now, as long as I don't buy a cheap one. Just pyll the grip safety, put the new thumb safety in, see where it hit's the sear and file a little at a time off untill it will engage, but not allow sear movement. It's one of the easier fitting things to do on a 1911.
