This is my largest rig to date by more than a few pieces and I’m extremely happy with the way it turned out. This style is pretty popular with CASS/SASS shooters because you can move the loops & swap 'em around as you swap guns without being out a belt. Also allows you to grow or shrink in the waist without having to replace everything.

The rig consists of 5 Ruger SBH holsters, with the intention by the customer of being used with various other single actions as well which is why he requested a retention strap. Four of the five are southpaw & two are cross draw rigs as well.

It also has a 2.25” wide Scout style belt along with 19 caliber slides in 9 different calibers. On pistol calibers I aimed for a minimum of 6 rounds and if I could fit more in the pattern I sewed them in. The markings aren’t all attractive but each caliber is marked to help prevent confusion and stretching of loops. The exterior leather is W&C Drum Dyed Russett with natural liners. I used a light brown antique on the entire rig inside & out followed by buffing the heck out of it, letting it rest, oiling it and buffing the heck out of it again. Final finish was two coats of Feibings Leather Balm with Atom Wax and I’m VERY pleased with the finish which looks / feels awesome.

One other new thing I tried on this rig was pounding the stitching with a smooth faced hammer to help ‘set’ it per a recommendation. It has an extremely noticeable difference to me especially on the holsters. All in all I know my customer will be tickled when this rig gets to Texas. Apologies for the photos as the ice didn’t want to cooperate with my normal backdrop this weekend!

While not really relevant to leather this ol' Iver Johnson marked Uberti is the revolver I learned to handgun shoot with. It's on 'loan' from my grandfather and I sure love this gun.

And I couldn't tell you why but this is my favorite combination of the group.

SO while I didn't have enough guns to cover everything offered I sure do like the way this rig turned out :)

WOW, WOW, WOW!
Your leather working skills (is there a term for leather man?) and photography skills both appear top-notch!

Thanks for sharing!
That Colt SAA with those Ivory grips........:what:

Man! If that ain't gun porn, then I don't know what is!!

Beautiful work, beautiful photos.

I stand in awe.

Beautiful work!!

Just don't foreget and leave the brass case ammo in the shell loops.

You will be a sad sad man.
With Verdigris green ammo, and Verdigris green shell-loops if you do!!

Thank you!

Have you ever thought about changing your monicker to "Leatherman" or "Leather Man"? That is some great looking work.

I've thought about changing it a few times. I feel that might be a bit pretentious though. I'm just one of many talented Leather Men :)

great looking work! i like the color a lot. very classy!

Thank you! I was very happy with the end combination.

That's awesome, you've been busy!

Hey Craig, someone has to do it right? I figured this rig might be more to your liking even with such a simple stamping...if you'd just send me some of those ol' Barry's..... :)

You, sir, are a talented artist and first rate craftsman. Very impressive work.

Thank you sir!

Thank you for the kind words, they are appreciated!

I have to echo the earlier comemnts, fantastic work! I love the tooling and the dye job, and the modular concept is great, too. Makes me want to go out and buy a couple SA revolvers just so I could justify a nice holster set like this! ;)

Hey Mike, thanks for the words! This would work pretty good with a semi or DA revolver as well...just sayin' :)

Very nice. Do you compete or perform in cowboy events or recreations?

Do you sell rigs?

I am currently collecting guns to compete at my local CASS club, just for fun. I wouldn't really consider my style 'period correct' for recreations.

Very nice

Can we see someone wearing these to see how it works out?

Unfortunately for me the customer was quite a bit smaller than myself, so pictures of it on really weren't an option. Should he happen to send some I'll be sure to post them with his permission. Thanks for the kind words!
