Okay so it wasn't really a plan, just opportunities that weren't missed.

My longtime friend never was never much interested in guns. 15 years ago that wasn't a big deal (since it was in the middle of my 20 year hiatus from shooting). Since I enthusiastically renewed my appreciation for the sport (well sports really, you know, clay games, pistol plate matches, USBR, etc.) he laughingly regarded me as a gun nut. He went shooting with me twice because I asked him repeatedly.

A month or so ago he had a situation at his home late at night where he found himself surrounded by trespassing meth heads, he realized that the cell phone really wasn't much of a defensive weapon. He did call the Sheriffs Office, although they still haven't shown up yet.

He asked me to help find him a good inexpensive shotgun. I did.

I took him out for some practice, patterning and hand thrown clays. He loves it. But his wife was still an anti.

But it turns out that another friend has a clays course at his place and his wife is good friends with my buddies wife. She told buddies wife how fun clays are and invited her up for a shoot. Buddies wife is excited. So excited that she told my wife, who is a neutral ( doesn't mind the kids and I shootin' all the time and our involvement with different clubs etc. but she has no real desire to shoot). I hope my wife decides to join them. She said that it sounds fun.

Could it be that the whole Wheeler family will go shooting together? I don't know, but I am hopeful.

Well thought out plan or a devious one doesn't really matter if it gets your wife on the range. Just think of the new excuses you can use to purchase more guns. Only problem is can you afford the extra ammo?

Its sounds very positive. And if your wife goes once she'll go again.
Keep your fingers crossed.

Just a tip, in case you didn't already know: 1oz loads in 12ga kick MUCH less than the standard 1& 1/8 oz loads, Great for the kids and women to start on!!

Sound great! Best wishes!

There are some women, not all but some, that no matter what facts are presented they will never listen to a man when it comes to guns or shooting. However they will listen to the same facts from another woman. Then there are are those who won't listen to any facts from anyone. Glad she is the type that will listen, even if it is only to another woman. I almost forgot one other type of woman where guns are involved, the type that has a good head on her shoulders. She uses her head to intelligently evaluate the facts no matter who presents them. Sometimes as men we overlook them but they can teach as well as learn. Good luck. Maybe they will become the types that learn then passes what they learn on to others.

I love it when a plan comes together.
