Ever since Costco opened a store near me about 7-8 years ago there has been "No weapons" signs on the posts by the door and on each side of the main door. I was just there today and all the signs have been taken down. Just bare spots with empty mounting holes from where the signs were. I don't know if it was a corporate or store decision, but it's definitely a welcome change.

Good news Twiki357 !
I frequent that Costco quite often......... in fact today.

I didn't notice the change but certainly welcome it. Every time I did noticed the signs I'd get :cuss:

The several Costco stores here never had gun owner keep out signs. Yes, I have one of those safes. Good buy. The trucker helped move it into the garage....chris3

They pulled them in Central FL as well (at least the one I went to today). First time I have ever cc'd at Costco! Yay!

Never saw them in Idaho. Heck, out local store doesn't even care about open carry (not that I've ever seen anyone do that there).

I will not spend a dime there. Most of their support goes to the Democratic Party. No Fanks.

I've been OC'ing in my local Costco store (Manassas, VA) for close to six years and have never seen any gunbuster signs, nor have I ever had a problem doing this. In fact one of the managers, who happened to be a member of a gun website I frequent, told me to stop by when I'm in the store and give him a shout. I didn't even know that Costco had a policy against firearms in their stores until maybe a little over a year ago and as far as I can tell, that policy does not extend to their store in Manassas.

It's a smart move. It doesn't really stop people from CCW anyways. The worst they can do is tell you that you're trespassing, and that you need to leave. Of course, why would they want to lose business in the first place?

I like Costco better than Sam's, but there in no Costco by me now. I remember the gun sign came down there and at Winn Dixie around the same time.
No one paid much attention to it anyway, from just walking around in the store, I always saw guys who were easy to spot carrying. Usually with a Gigantic Fanny pack, that has the quick release tabs for a weapon.
I guess the "snow birds" don't think anyone knows what they have inside the oversized fanny Pack.
