My youngest daughter wanted to go shooting this morning so we met at an indoor range about halfway between our houses. I brought a Witness Elite Match in .40, XDM 5.25" in 9mm, and the X6 in 9mm. We weren't doing fast mag dumps, but shooting pretty quickly (maybe 10 rounds in 18-20 seconds)as soon as the sights got back on target.

I also want to preface this by saying I can't shoot the 2" 25 yard groups that lots of people say they can. I've got tired old eyes and arthritis in both hands, plus I generally just wobble around a bit. :)

Since she was shooting her pocket 9 we started at 5 yards, and the X6 puts everything in one very small hole. I didn't measure it but call it quarter size. The Elite Match was close, but there were a couple of bullets (from 10 round groups) that had some space between them. The XDM groups were considerably bigger at perhaps 2" or so.

We moved back to 10 yards, the X6 showed the groups opening up to perhaps 1 1/2 - 2" or so, the Witness at 2 1/2" or so, and the XDM unfortunately much larger at 3 1/2" plus. I couldn't keep 10 in a row in the 4" circle I was shooting at with the XDM. We could guess the XDM was partially me since I was shooting the groups all above the centerline of the 4" circle, so obviously I was shooting it a bit high.

15 yards was the max range we could shoot, the X6 easily keeps everything in a 4" circle with group sizes looking around 3-3 1/2", and this is with a reasonably fast string of fire. The Elite Match was generally keeping 9 out of 10 in the 4" circle with perhaps a 4 1/2" group. And at this range the XDM was way out of it's league with groups getting into the 5 1/2 - 6" range.

I'm still loving the Sig X6, although I have to say a Witness Elite Match in 9mm (as opposed to mine in .40) might get pretty close in group size.
