Yes I did a search. I do not want to read multiple threads with 200 " sell it and buy a AR " replies till someone says " I heard accu strut might work ".

My question, and my only question, is has anyone used the accu strut on a older thin barrel mini .223? I am definitly buying one and wonder what might be expected.

definitely buying the accustrut for a mini you have already? or definitely buying an older mini14?

ive read good things about them.... on the other hand ive seen one (exactly one in my life) at the range shooting on the 100yd line. (it was when i decided not to mess with one for mine and just buy an ar15)

his was shooting about 4" groups with the 1st 3 shots, opening up to 6+" with the 4th and 5th....... which was definitely better than mine without a strut could do.

he was also trying a rubber dampener, as well as moving his strut around to optimize its effectiveness.

I've had the mini 20 years. Definitely buying the strut. Need to put some makeup on the old gal to get interested in taking her out again, and heard second hand 2-3 good reports on the strut.

I have a thin barreled, has the Accu strut. It helps. looks great.
Im going to send mine off to be freeze dried one of these days. I mean cyroid or what ever they call it.
Lot of ways to help shrink the groups.
I think the biggest 2 are Cry, helps the stringing, & having the barrel shortened by 2 inches.

Trim the fat.

Seriously-I cut my groups down to ~2 MOA by lobbing the barrel to 14.6" and just welding a flash hider on. I had it done, because I'm not confident in recrowning. $100 plus the flash hider, it looks, handles and shoots much better:

I have an older strut on my older thin-barreled ranch rifle. cut offhand groups from 9" paper plate size to pop can size at 50 yards... which is the extent of my testing so far.

Now that is neat. It almost makes me want a Mini. It looks like it's bigger brother lol. I never cared for the Mini or the M1 Carbine because they just didn't look right (lack of exposed gas tube). This strut is reminiscent of that and I'm liking it.

thanks, I agree. The new ones look even more like the M14 gas cylinder. :)

Thanks for all the replies. Sure looks like at $92 the strut is a lot of bang for the buck. Should be fun to play with.

I'll post a picture later, but I love my accu strut. For less than $100 it is a ton of bang for your buck and really completes the look of the mini.

I have the accustrut SOCOM. I'm not sure how much it really works, but my gun is reasonably accurate. I think that the combination of the Amega Rail and the Accustrut Must make the barrel stiffer. Whether or not that really makes the gun more accurate is an open question.

Mostly I just like the way it looks. :)
