Well, I got the EGW Useries die, and the redding competition seater, and I got to admit, daddy likes the redding comp. seater.
The jurys still out on the Udie, but it's cheap peace of mind.
I'm trying them in 9mm as well, and making lots of changes. Hoping to report back with stellar results. So far it looks promising. My dillon 550 powder funnel is now the roadblock. Will report back ASAP.
I tried seating the 147 grain 9mm bullet crooked, and it while it was possible, it wasn't easy. Esp. not when used with the Udie.

Cool, looking forward to hearing how it works out for you.

The Redding Competition seater die is AWESOME isn't it?

Man, If I had known the competition seater was so awesome, I wouldn't have bought all those dillon dies. Well, I guess I gotta become a ebay seller sometime.....
I got some 9mm ammo loaded with 147grain winchester bullets in .947"+ WIN cases, loaded with 5.0 grains HS-6 loaded to 1.100 with the EGW undersize die the COMP seater die, and a LEE FC die.
I can't really see what the EGW undersize die can do when being sabotaged by the dillon powder funnel, but it looks like it's sizing down farther than the dillon die. That will be good for .40, but I don't know about 9mm.
I'm keeping the hornady competition seater dies. They're worth it just for the micrometer adjustment, dead straight seating, very consistant seating depth, and total lack of point deformation. They also speed up the loading process, look cool, and chicks dig 'em.

Hmmm. I am loading on a Dillon also and my powder funnel in 9mm is .353", my 40 funnel is .398". Both grab the case enough to notice when used by the U-die but don't undo all it did for me. Both loaded rounds will take in excess of 100 pounds of pressure without setback.

Now that I am thinking about it I turned the 9mm funnel down .001". I used a cordless drill to spin it and 2000 grit paper on a gauge block to keep it straight.... Don't use 2000 paper if you do it, use some 400 to get the first 9 tenths off then 1200 or finer for the last tenth, it took FOREVER to get a thou off with 2000.

The U-dies go down on the case almost .100" further, and it is a good thing even in 9mm.

Your FCD is only crimping now right? Using the U-die and the CSD I would bet the carbide ring never touches a case again....

The Dillon dies sure run nice and smooth, but don't get down the case far enough to suit me. I run Lee sizers in ALL of my handgun loads now except for 45 Colt, I have an RCBS die that does just fine there. LOL, I sold a BUNCH of Dillon, RCBS, Lyman, and Hornady dies on eBay once I found THE set-up. I still experiment but it doesn't take nearly as long to test new dies anymore.
