That's the nitro content.

Yes, I posted about it and that was the answer. I would have never known.

Also, just for the pure nonsense of it... I picked up a pound of W244 today. Although I know burn rates are subjective, yada yada, W244 is right next to Unique, probably closer than BE-86. I've not yet seen BE on the burn rate chart, so I don't really know... I believe it's between say Unique and Blue Dot, if I remember correctly. I'm going to have to have a big load-up and shoot out with 9mm, .45ACP, and whatever else I think I can pour it into...

Yes, burn rates are subjective, so I will be subjective.

Based on my data, BE-86 is close to Unique but just a little bit slower. I normally feel comfortable starting my BE-86 load at the starting load of Unique, or maybe 1/10th higher.

Based on my data, W244 is close to HP-38 and SportPistol.

Again, purely being subjective and looking at my data and what I load for, I group my powders as follow:
700x, Bullseye
HP38, SportPistol, W244
Unique, BE86, CFE Pistol
Power Pistol
Longshot
