Hi, all.

Have a pre-64 Win model 70 in 25-06. Would like to get an aftermarket stock so my 9-yr-old son can hunt with it without worrying about buggering up the original stock. Was thinking about getting a basic Ramline stock and cutting off 2-4 inches so it'll fit my son.

Is there any obvious problem with this that I'm overlooking?

And what has y'all's experience been with Ramline? They seem pretty good, and I got a very prompt response from their support folks.

Thanks very much for your advice!

Hum, Ramline sounds like it will work for your needs. I'd do just that and make it fit your son. Happy hunting!

I have several Ramlines in service and they have served well, some gun snobs look down on them because they don't cost as much as. That said, I've only seen one failure with a Ramline stock and that was on a Savage 110E in 300 Winchester Magnum and Ramline replaced it.

I'm not sure how they are constructed, so you need to find out if they can be cut down and still cap the butt without problems with being hollow and be able to attach the pad. You may need to use some type of adhesive to complete.
