Hello all,
Does anyone know of any source (custom made or off-the-rack) where I can get an aftermarket front and/or rear adjustable sight for any of the adjustable sighted Taurus revolvers? I've got a Taurus Tracker with some loose fitting sights, and I'd rather not send it back to the factory out of principle; the same gun has already made 3 trips home to Miami.
Thanks!

taurus sights

Hi Andy, I too have a problem with my tracker rear sight. It wobbles in the rear blade area. The gun has only 10 rds through it,but it was doing it before I even fired it. I called Taurus to get a replacement and the woman said that they don't have any replacement sights but that I could call again in a month or two. Why wouldn't they have any sights for a gun they make every day?!! Also she told me to "just shoot it until the sight falls off":( I'm not real happy to say the least with their so-called customer service!!!! I like the gun,but if thats the way Taurus does business then I don't believe I'd buy another one of thier products!!! Sorry to vent but I'm not happy about spending over 400.00 for this shabby piece of workmanship:cuss: If you find any replacement sights please let me know and I will do likewise. Have a great day.

Hey there, sorry to hear you've got a similar problem. However, I will suggest that you not give up on Taurus customer service just yet; it depends ENTIRELY on who at Taurus you speak with. I've called and talked to people who acted like they didn't have the time to speak with me, and then I've called back and talked to wonderful people who have been very willing to help. It seems to be the luck of the draw. My experience from their customer service dept ranges from the very poor end to the very high, with them offering to send me some free (small) parts, scheduling a free FedEx pickup and paying for overnight shipping to send back a gun they didn't fix the first time I'd sent it, and even replacing another revolver they couldn't fix with a brand new one! So, I think it all depends on how nice the person on the other end is. One of them even spent 20 minutes looking up cross-listed parts for me since the ones I needed were backordered.

Long story short, you should call them back another day, and ask again, maybe twice. I'd bet you'll get a different answer, and I'll also bet the Tracker rear sight on every tracker revolver is the exact same item, just with different part numbers, so I'd also ask them to ask their gunsmiths and find a rear sight for another Tracker that is cross-listed with the part you need.
