Cabela's Bargain Cave has it for $88. Lowest I've seen.

I'm not looking for anything other than a good plinker. Accuracy must be satisfactory. That's about it.

Would you do it?

I'll answer my own question. Accuracy is fine. After I spent about 15 shots trying to sight it in, and seeing the pellets go every which way except the way I was turning the knobs, and figuring out that the bozo in the factory mounted the scope 45 degrees off. (Wait a minute--isn't the up/down supposed to be on top, and the left/right on the right? @^#&$*%)

2 minutes after that inspiration, she was shooting dime groups right where I wanted them at 30 feet (longest lane I have in the basement.)

She'll probably shoot tighter than that, but the trigger has a nice, crisp break at about 20 lbs. I kept thinking I'd left the safety on.

If I can get the trigger a little lighter, I'll be happy.

Power is fine. Penetration in a dry phone book is significant.

Beeman used to stand for the highest grade imported air rifle, unfortunately that is no longer true. The Germans and English make the best air rifles, look for used air rifles on American Airguns Classified. Most of the bargain guns offered now come from Spain, China, and Turkey, while they do function, they are a far cry from what Beeman used to offer.

I'm agreeing. This trigger is getting an F. And I don't see any andjustment, except to start grinding, which I am scared to do. The sear blocks the piston directly. No leverage or force multiplier. All the force of the piston bears on the sear, which is part of the trigger.

And getting a gunsmith to work on it would probably cost more than getting a better rifle in the first place.

I'll give it a while to break in. But if the trigger doesn't get better, its going to be traded, sold or given away.

beeman makes some quite fine air rifles, but man can they be expensive! under 100 bucks for one seems a steal!
Beeman is a rebadger/reseller of airguns, they don't make anything they sell. Some of their suppliers make very good products, others not so good. They were bought out some years ago and promptly expanded their line downward.

They still carry some very nice airguns at the upper end of their product line, but the lower end of their line is now of varying quality.

Here's a good way to tell what airguns are being returned to Beeman for repair/replacement. Check out the list of "Factory Rebuilt Rifles" on this page.
