My great fiance gave me $100 for Valentines. Her reasoning. "I have no idea what to give you that would be romantic!" Hell, nothing says I love you like cold hard CASH!! :D

There's a gun show coming to town this weekend and I've always wanted to get one of those 75 or 100 rnd drums for my Romanian AK-47. But I notice there's many different types. Can you guys give me some recommendations as to which model / brand etc is the best to get and which ones I should stay away from. I know that gun shows can be a bit pricey, so if you know anyone selling them at a decent price, let me know.

Thanks for the advise.

I suggest Chinese over Romanian or Russian. You can load it in an unwound state through the open back, not round by round through the feed lips against spring pressure.

The Chinese ones are the best(I think anyway). They are the ones that open in the front. You can load then and keep them loaded and when you want to use them you just wind them up.
The Romanian on are good but you have to load them one by one and get hard on your thumb.

I would check on Gunbroker before you go to the show. It will give you a good idea of the going rate on these mags before you go to the show.

I just picked up two chinese norinco ak drums last month. A 75'er and a 100. I paid $50  What a steal!

Jobu07, I'm jealous as hell. Here in Massachusetts I'm sure I'll pay the full $100 for a drum mag. :fire: Nice pick up!!!

Ditto to what everyone else has said - go with the Chinese ones rather than the top-loaders.

Just the info I needed Rockrivr1.

I've got a AKM47 pistol on order and I've deen thinking about getting a drum mag for it.

A friend wanted me to try out his drum mag in my AK a few years ago but I never got a chance to shoot it.

It must have been the Chi Com mag because it easily opened for loading.

I saw a drum recently at the gun show for $79. Don't know which brand.

I've got the top loader and the thing is a workout to load. If I find a Chinese I'm grabbing it.

Chinese Drum Mag it is!!! I'll definitely look for one this weekend.

M2 Carbine - Yeah, I've been thinking of getting one of these for a while. I was thinking the price would go down once the ban was done, but no such luck.

My brother has a Romanian Drum - says it's a real PITA to load, and the LULA loader has has doesn't work with it!

Chinese drums are getting hard to find, so if you find one, snatch it up!

Just got an e-mail from a friend.
Said he has 2 ChiCom 75 round mags and he'd give me one. :)

Course I'll pay him for it. He's got two girls in school.
That will keep you short of shooting money. ;)

BTW here's one of his girls.
The man knows how to raise his kids right.

Hey Million Moms, bite on this. :D

Sweet shooting gun.

Those lucky young ladies also have a FA UZI and MAC 10 (9mm) to play with. :D

Rockrivr1,
may I interrupt your thread for just on more fun picture.

Right after 9-11 we, at work, decided to provide our own security.

I'm guarding my helicopter.
Only sissy pilots carry pistols.:D

rockrivr, yes, many folks get jealous of that price. The prices that you cite for Mass are about what they go for here in NY as well. I just happened upon a local FFL who either didnt' know what he had, or didnt' have anythign in them. I even mulled it over a couple of days before I got them. I'm glad no one else saw them.... :uhoh:

M2 Carbine, No problem at all. Nice picture of you and the helicopter. Takes varmint hunting to a whole new level I would bet. ;)

jobu07, nice catch. Makes ya feel good when you come across a good deal like that. Doesn't happen often so you got to enjoy it.
