AK & Glock

In a SHTF scenario, which by the way isn't going to take place IMO, BUT for the sake of discussion IF that were the case I would want something that's SURE to go bang each & every time the trigger was squeezed. The Glock & AK will go bang each and every time even if you don't have time to clean them.
Pretty doesn't matter much in a SHTF scenario but reliability is everything for me. So yes sir AK & Glock. If no AK then perhaps SKS but got to have the Glock.

If it were my ONLY handgun and it was between an 8+1 .45 ACP 1911 or a 15+1 10 mm auto Glock 20, I'd have to choose a Glock 20 (though I hate pretty much all other Glocks and love 1911s). There are more uses for 10 mm auto (self defense, hunting, etc.) than .45 ACP, and it's more potent, as well.

The AK vs AR debate is harder.

If you really think about it, all 4 choices above are good choices, it really boils down to personal preference.

AK and 1911. (I am assuming of course, we are talking about Glock's in a caliber other than .45. A Glock .45 would be just fine with me.)

Anything less than 7.62 in a rifle and .45 in a handgun is too small. A buddy of mine did a tour in Iraq and he says he'd seen insurgents take three, four shots from a 5.56 and still not hit dirt.

I keep this post bookmarked to explain my position on the .45 (and why I will settle for nothing less). This guy explains it in a nutshell: http://thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=5584944&postcount=3

I can now speak from personal experience. I've been a 1911 guy from Day 1, but now I'm also an AR guy. I just bought my first lower, and as soon as I get the upper parts together I'll have my very own M4gery.

AR and 1911. I like hitting what I aim at so in that regard, the AK and Glock combo is lacking.

AR and 1911. A Glock doesnt have a soul. But since God is the one who creates 1911s, not humans(as some might be led to believe), they do in fact have souls.

Well-as a 1911 owner, and an AR owner with AR experience in combat, I will say AR and 1911.

However in a SHTF scenario I will leave my 1911 at home and grab my Beretta 96fs. 1000 rounds without a hiccup. My 1911 is a little picky about ammo.
