"Get yourself a Glock and lose that nickel plated sissy pistol."
-Tommy Lee Jones in U.S. Marshals

It's been years since I last saw that one, so I can't remember what the nickel plated sissy pistol was. Anybody remember? Maybe a 1911, which would be ironic. I view it more as a line of character development of the differences between Jones' character (experienced, views a gun as tool for a job) and Robert Downey Jr.'s character (flashy, inexperienced, rock star mentality, views a gun as something that will make people respect him), more than as an actual statement about the guns themselves.

I believe it was some sort of Beretta/Taurus Model 92 variant, last I remembered.

From Johnny Dangerously (1984)

Danny Vermin played by Joe Piscopo Talking to Michael Keaton (Johnny)

Danny Vermin: "I got something to stop him."
(Joe Piscopo pulls out a HUGE revolver)
Dutch: "They made it for him special. It's an eighty-eight Magnum."
Danny Vermin: "It shoots through schools."

Oh I just remembered another quote from Tremors movie 2. Its about explosives so I guess this is close enough. After Burt drives RC tank out into the area and the monster swallows it he detonates it while he sets under the big truck. As debris rains down he speaks into his tape recorder "Memo. Four pounds of C4 may be a little... excessive."

From "Battle of the Bulge"...
They're in Bastogne...shelling starts...Charles Bronson runs down a street...a bunch of cooks come out...

Bronson: Where're you goin'?"
cooks: "to the bomb shelter...we're cooks!"
Bronson:"LUNCH IS OVER, GET A RIFLE!"

my favorite line.

Unforgiven
Will Munny (Eastwood): All right, I'm coming out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him. Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, and burn his damn house down.

From Men in Black:

Farmer goes to edge of alien's crash site with 12 ga pump shotgun in hand.

Alien: Throw down your weapon.

Farmer: You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Alien: Your terms are acceptable.

Doc holliday and wyatt holding pistols throw open the door of a room with 2 cowboys in bed with women.
Wyatt: "nobody move!"
Doc: "nonsense. By all means, move"

My 1st Post...

Hello All - Great Thread... Jim In Anchorage!!

Being a Det. Callahan fan (who isn't??)...

I can't remember all of the details as it has been a long time since I've seen it (way overdue). Harry is meeting the bad guy near a monument (I believe) just before he stabs the BG in the leg

The Killer: Freeze cop. Now, left hand, pull out your gun.
[Harry pulls out his .44 Magnum]
The Killer: My, that's a big one.

He tells Harry to throw it down... it hits the road next to a gutter. This has my vote for the worst sound ever in a movie! Aaarggh!

From "Battleground" with Van Johnson, set in the Battle of the Bulge. Johnson is taking some rear line people to the front and is briefing one of them on the M1 Garand. Been a while since I've watched it, but the scene went something like this:

Johnson: "This is the M1, a .30 caliber, shoulder mounted gas operated rifle..."

Soldier: "Look, you're not selling to me, just show me how it works!"

Another:

Bogart is in the desert and the BG's have him surrounded.

They are all big, fat & ugly, Mexican guys waiting to kill him...

(In your best Spanish accent)... I don't think your friends are coming.

point break in the back of the van "peace through superior fire power"

"The Life an Times of Judge Roy Bean"....Paul Newmen after he shoots the long white haired bad guy in the back, who was waiting for Paul Newman to come out an face him down....."Judge...you shot him in the back." ....."He would of wanted it that way."

Not sure who said it but "you can have my gun one bullet at a time."
MASH-Hot Lips "your gun is digging into my hip" General "lucky gun"
NCIS- Gibbs "Marines save lives, mostly through the use of superior fire power"

Replacement Killers

Chow Yun Fat and Gangleader facing each other, and CYF has the drop on the gangleader:

Gangleader - "The boy will die John. And your family too!"

CYF - "Not in YOUR lifetime!"

BANG!

Cut to see gangleader's body falling lazily though the air off the roof

Tombstone - Wyatt to Ike - You die first, get it? Your friends might get me in a rush, but not before I make your head into a canoe, you understand me?

Lloyd Batista as Neemo: So if you want these horses, I sell them to you. Did you bring some gold with you?

John Wayne as John Chisum: No.

Lloyd Batista as Neemo: Silver?

John Wayne as John Chisum: Just lead!

From Chisum
