My White Oak Armament barrel arrived today :) :

Obviously I wouldn't shoot it with a rimfire silencer, I just wanted to get an idea of scale since I'll probably be putting an M4-1000 on it which is 7.5" or so (.22 can is 6.1). This thing is heavy as a cinderblock - which is perfect for what this gun will be. I'm ordering a Troy MRF-RX 13.5" rail system for it - it won't cover the whole gas system, but it's as close as you can get with a monolithic rail on a gas system that's 2" longer than Rifle-length.

Me likey. It's 1:7. Once the rail gets here I'll slap the thing together and punch some paper with a set of iron sights. Still gotta find a good scope for this one.

All AR barrels step down, otherwise there would be no shoulder to index the gas block against.

Duh.. I have no experience with ARs, but I should have thought about that a little more before asking. I am used to my minis barrel, as it steps up.
