Altor single shot 9mm

I received an email this morning advertising an $89 9mm pistol, the Altor. IMO it really puts the zip in zip gun.

Im kinda tempted.

On the other hand, if you pointed it at an attacker they may not think its real which would negate any deterrent value.

Indeed, it could have been styled like a more conventional pistol shape just as cheaply, which tells me that the designers chose the "not a gun" shape on purpose......hmmmm.

I think youd need a bigger spray nozzle .....

actually they should DO a 50bmg edition. All brass and shaped like a .50

heck tho, a .50 cal version would be awesome.....Darwin would approve.

Interesting design but I think I'd rather a two shot derringer, such as a Bond, chambered in 9x19 or 38 Special. At least you'd have a follow up shot without reloading.

The Altor may have plans to make it in other cartridges although I could see the polymer frame might be a limiting factor.

Of course the Bond is available in many cartridges but I've found the larger the bore, the harder to hit a target accurately.

This is the sort of thing that will probably become a hot collectable some years down the road due to it's total commercial failure. I kind of want one in .357 max to see how big of fireballs it can throw.

I think for about a hundred dollars more you could easily find a good used HiPoint repeater.

Kind of strange seeing this gun after just watching the movie Munich. Killing the woman with the zip guns. (and she made a good point, "what a waste)

All I could think is how long till they get sued? Someone is surely going to hurt themselves or someone else and of course blame the gun.
