i have a 9mm sigma already and i really am thinking about getting its brother the .40 S&W since its 249. I love my 9VE ya the trigger is heavy but it still is awesome. Im saving for a glock 20 but i want a new toy to shoot and since i dont have a 40 i think its a good choice. i know the complaints of the old sigmas but i have yet to see any of these faults in the new ones. whats yalls opinion. And glock lovers ur system is superior but let me save money for the 20 first before u recommend a .40 cal glock

$249 is about half the cost of the GLOCK 20...why spend it. If saving money for the G20 is your goal dont spend it when you half way there.

I never wanted a Glock, and I never thought I'd recommend a Glock to anyone else. I mean, I'm a SIG guy...

Then I shot one.

More people I knew kept buying them, and I'd try them out.

I'd find myself sneaking off to the range, and renting them... and then not telling anyone about it.

I kept it up.. lying to myself, cheating on my SIGs... all the way until this Christmas... I went into my local gunstore, looking for a deal on a SIG P239 in .357Sig for concealed carry... And I came home with this!!!

:D

I think overall they're great guns... I own a few guns from a few other manufacturers that could be called "nicer" for one reason or another. But every serious shooter needs at least one Glock. If you're already thinking about it, then just keep saving, and be patient. If you get another Sigma, you'll just get mad at yourself later for not waiting a little longer to get what you really wanted.

Ask me how I know. ;)

I wouldn't recommend it either. Use the money for something else. U already have 1 - and U might be surprised how much better U shoot with a lighter trigger over the Sigma...

i think it might be time for you to upgrade, and no better way to do that than to go with a Glock, btw the 19's are sweet!;)

Isn't it time to diversify and get a new perspective? New experiences will broaden your horizon. You have one Sigma, well, you are not unhappy with it, but have you tried what's out there?
Beautiful 1911s, Glocks, SIG Sauers and SIGs, Walthers, HKs, Steyrs....Did I mention my love for wheel guns?

....I'll stop here. Start from here and you'll have a happy life:)

Get something different, IMO. Like a 1911, Sig, AK, Smith, Beretta, etc.

I've had an early Sigma in .40; no problems with it. Fit great, shot great. Only thing I didn't like was the looks. Sold it and kinda wish I had it back for a glovebox gun.

I have a .40 Glock also, and the Smith fit my hands better.

It's your money, of course, but if it were me I'd get a different type/look/system just for variety.

i currently own a sigma a S&W .22 a P220 sig and a colt python .357 so i have a decent diversity so far. but i do need a 10mm and a .40 S&W so ill figure it out in the future plus i gotta get a few more rifles and shotguns.

If you think the sigma trigger is heavy but somehow awesome, you really need to try some other pistols. I'm sorry, there is no polite way to put it. Shoot a glock with a 3.5 connector bar then try to justify another sigma.

I would get a 1911 of some sort. Simply because you will enjoy the Sigma but in the end you will wish that you had something very different from the other gun.

I swear up and down that you will find the 1911 trigger to be very different and very enjoyable.

I own and use a 40VE as my HD gun with a light on it. It is 100% reliable, has great ergonomics, teachs you proper trigger control and sight picture.

I don't think your crazy... Buy it!

The newer Sigmas are vastly better guns than they were, but still nothing to crow about.

Get the M&P. Now THAT'S a good Smith autoloader, improved in every way over the Sigma.

I have a 9VE, it's been a great pistol and I believe it's made me a better shooter. When I got the .40 bug, I ended up with the M&P. I tried a number of other makes/models but kept coming back to the MP.
I would try a few other models before going with another Sigma.
Variety is the spice of life is it not?!

I was saving up for a Glock .40 and settled for a Taurus Millennium in .40 because it was a lot less expensive and was right place/right time. I regretted it until I got rid of the Taurus (at a loss) and got the Glock 27 I had my eyes on from the beginning. It was worth waiting on, and I recommend that you do the same, especially since you already have a Sigma.

used to own one

hi , i used to own a sigma sgve40. ,it's good pistol but...i did not like the trigger pull (doa) i really have to keep my hand steady prior to pulling the trigger...i hit a couple of bulls eye at 15 yds..now i have 2 1911's,rock island and dan wesson, same recoil as a .40 just lighter trigger and a heck of alot stopping power..:) :)
