Look how wide those lands and grooves are on that ball, its a .454

A larger ball would have wider and a .451 would have a very narrow band if any band at all?

I hope it just needs shot a little more, ide guess this is the second times its ever been shot by the look of the blast cut in the culinder shaft.

You show a photo of LAPPING not slugging. Slugging is with oil and pushing it through and measuring the diameters of land & groove.

Yeah post #24 is lapping but when i first heard the term slugging i thought it was doing something like lapping

This put the bullet emerging from the chamber .001 over bore diameter and produced a better bullet/bore relationship. I could push ww bullets up into the 1600s with no leading.
