Amazed...No Escort w/Ammo Purchase

I naturally turned to the page marked "Shooting." It gave some advice to help prevent shootings in the store. One piece of advice was to always escort a gun purchaser to the door. So there's your reason. If they didn't escort you then there would definitely be a shooting.
What am I THINKING?? Of course! ... the ONLY reason to purchase a gun from Wal-mart is to immediately shoot up the place!:what: Thankfully, that pleasant walk out the door suppressed any urge I might have had to go on a shooting spree. - Thank goodness!

Seriously, I forgot that insurance regs might play a part in it. (I think they play a part in employers "no-gun" policies too).

Gun regulations? Logic? You used those two in the same sentence?
:D What is WRONG with me today? Now I am EXPECTING gun regulations to be logical - I think I need professional help!

BTW - at my local Wal-mart... most of the time they make me pay for it at the sporting goods counter then walk around with it as I finish my shopping but occasionally they just hand it to me and I pay for it up front with everything else.

FWIW

maybe different for each state.....cause ive never been escorted out of any walmart here in TN when buying ammo. There is a wally world on the way to the range, so we usualy wait and buy all the value packed ammo there. Usualy 300-400 rounds between the 3 of us....yet no help out the door :D. And that time I bought 1000 rounds at bass pro....I wish someone would have helped me... that was heavy

Around here, Academy Sports / NOLA - West Bank requires handgun ammo to be carried up. Which is fine by me ... since I usually buy several boxes at a time. Saves me the trouble. (It's waiting on me when I'm finished shopping.)

Rifle and shotgun cartridges/shells are on the shelf.

Lock and load.

Why would they care whether your .22 or .40 ammo was fora handgun or a rifle?

What does it matter to them? Are they keeping track for some sort of market research to know whether their customers are more likely to buy rifle related supplies?

Or do they have different policies for the two? Weird, 22 is more dangerous if its for a handgun!?!?!
