You guys cease to amaze me...i've been shootin and studyin these BP revolvers for over 6 years now...and everything i've learned about em...has been right here (okay, a few other forums too), but, sure hope ya'll keep the newbies informed and educatuded like ya did me!..Thanks to all of ya!!

most black powder folks I've met out in the real world reflect this as well. While gun folk are almost universally friendly, no one is as helpfully with the new guy as a black powder shooter. Perhaps because there is so much almost arcane knowledge that goes into getting a good reliable shot, or maybe it's the sulpher fumes, but everyone just seems friendlier at a black powder shoot.

That would be "never cease to amaze" :)

Everything I've learned about blackpowder firearms I've learned here.

I thought it would be cool to start BP but i dont have a gun for it so some time this year i hope or some time i will get one. AND I CANT SLEEP!!!! :banghead:

It took me being here a few+ years before I finally took the revolver plunge.
All of the talk about needing to do home gunsmithing gave me coooold feet! :D

I had a bp revolver 30 yrs ago and lost interest. After reading on this forum how much fun everyone has shooting them , I bought 2 and am looking for #3.
I enjoy history.
I enjoy shooting.
I enjoy reloading.
I enjoy do-it-yourself.
...you get all that with black powder rifles/cap'n ball.

Well let's see here. Because of this and other forums I purchased my first handgun and factory ammo. I got tired of factory ammo prices so I got into reloading. Then I got tired of bullet prices and got into lead casting and of course along the way accumulated about 30 guns because of the classifieds sections and online auctions.

The best part has been the wealth of knowledge given to me at no charge from members of this forum thus helping me keep all my fingers and toes.

Now the wife might have a different view of all of this but in the scheme of things she enjoys the fruits of my labor at the range when it comes time to do some trigger pullin'.

BHP fan hit the nail right on the head. BP shooters are a breed apart. We're just happy to see another out there that thinks like we do. I've been involved in BP 48 years now and it just keeps getting better! I've never seen another BP shooter ever turn his back on a newcommer. In fact it's just the opposite. They'll take the new shooter under their wing and show them things that would takes years to discover on their own. Its a good "breed apart" I think.
