A dissenting student hounded for his views

    By Valerie Richardson
    THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Tim Bueler recently received some unusual advice: His principal and a campus police officer suggested that he stay home from his California high school for a few days.
They feared for his safety because Tim, the founder of Rancho Cotate High School's new Conservative Club, said he had received threats from other students after writing an article for the club newsletter calling for a crackdown on illegal immigration.
The 17-year-old junior says that stance inspired threats from which teachers have refused to protect him. Some faculty members even started a public campaign against his group, which seeks to promote "the pillars of the Bible, patriotism and conservative beliefs as balance to the mostly liberal viewpoints of teachers," according to its newsletter, "The Conservative Agenda."
In a telephone interview, Tim said he's been threatened at least three times by Hispanic students who call him "white boy" and "racist." One boy said he was going to "find someone" to beat up Tim.
In two of those instances, Tim said two faculty members stood by and did nothing to help him. Most recently, Tim said, he was confronted by a dozen Hispanic boys, who blocked him from walking down the hallway.
"They said, 'You're a racist,' and I said, 'Are you guys going to let me through?' " Tim said. "So I ducked into a classroom and told the teacher what was happening, and said, 'Can you help me?' And she said, 'No. Get out of here.' "
Earlier, he said he was eating lunch in a classroom when about seven Hispanic students surrounded him. Worried for Tim's safety, his father, Dennis Bueler, said he asked for help from a teacher who was also in the room.
"The teacher told him, 'When you say things like that, you've got to expect that things like this are going to happen. Why don't you go out the back door?' " Mr. Bueler said in recounting the incident.
Tim said teachers have also joined in the name-calling. One called Tim a Nazi, while another described the club as "a bunch of bigots." In a parody of the newsletter, biology teacher Mark Alton called on students to "take a stand against the neoconservative wing-nuts who call themselves Americans."
Tim thought about leaving the school, located in Rohnert Park about an hour north of San Francisco, and then made his decision: No way.
"They said, 'It's in your best interest not to go to school,' " Tim said. "I said, 'Well, why? What have I done wrong?' "
The club has invited students to call its "liberal assault hot line" to report whether they've been "verbally assaulted for being conservative."
With about 50 members, the club has hosted speakers from the Eagle Forum and National Rifle Association.
Forty school staff members signed a letter to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat calling on the Conservative Club to back up its accusations that students are being indoctrinated.
"They've made all these sweeping statements about liberal teachers warping the curriculum, but as a science teacher, I'd like to see some evidence," said Mr. Alton, who co-authored the letter.
Mr. Alton said he was also disturbed by Tim's article on illegal immigration, which says, "Liberals welcome every Muhammad, Jamul and Jose who wishes to leave his Third World state and come to America."
"No one at the high school opposes the formation of the Conservative Club," Mr. Alton said. "What bothers me is the extreme views that border on racism or homophobia, the negative tone, and the hot line that calls teachers 'traitors.' "
Tim admitted that his zeal sometimes gets the best of him. He apologized for the "Muhammad" remark, saying, "I made a mistake, but I'm not racist." Club adviser Bernadette Tucker stepped down after Tim printed the newsletter without allowing her to edit it first.
Rancho Cotate Principal Mitchell Carter and district officials did not return several phone calls.
Mr. Bueler said he's ready to bring in lawyers if the school cannot protect his son. "The police don't think they were real threats, but I disagree. He shouldn't have to be threatened every day," the father said.

It is not surprising to me that the uneducated masses at a Cauleefornya public school no only to respond to viewpoints different from theirs with vitriolic hatred. The ‘utes in this country are no longer being educated (taught how to think), their being programmed (taught what to think). It’s not just a left coast problem; it’s the malignance that will eventually bring about the demise of the United States. :( :banghead:

I contend that the only reason our .gov has gotten away with such blatant violations of it's own founding documents is the .gov instilled apathy, ignorance, and submissiveness of the victims of our public indoctrination system.

John Dewey ranks right up there with FDR and Lincoln when it comes to destroying the Republic and installing a socialist "dumbocracy" in it's place. Too bad so few people know him for anything other than his moronic numbering system.

    The question is.....

....what do we do about it?

The difference between a Nazi and a Liberal is a matter of spelling. The Nazified approach that these "teachers" and "administrators" take against anyone who is not in the indoctrinated "mainstream" is all the proof needed of that fact.

But how can thinking be re-introduced to young Americans before, like noted above, this malignancy destroys the USA?

Hand wringing ain't gonna do it. I don't know what will. It's going to have to be an effort that patiently chips away at the dumbed down curriculum in the same way that the present "dumucators who create dumocrats" chipped away at logic and are chipping away at America's free society.

I think to some extent the point has been missed.
There is no objection to the club, just the way this kid seems to express himself in a negative way.
Calling minorities by racial slur names won't get your point across.
You wouldn't see him in a black neighborhood saying the N word.

Thats why he's being threatened to be beaten up. If your gonna have a big mouth, you better be able to defend yourself and not run behind the nearest teachers skirt.

As for the teachers not getting involved, with the lawsuits flying do you really think they would want to get into some type of physical confrontation because some kid used racial slurs?

Story has been blown out of proportion, gives the conservatives a bad name.

I think it would be really nice if a local conservative offered free self-defense classes & kubotans to the members of that club. Maybe that would dissuade a few of the "dissenters"...

Me too...especially since IT'S TRUE!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

    feedthehogs,

Even if he didnt specifically make the comment about "Jamal", in which case he's basically correct, do you think his writing about his stance on illegal immigration would still have brought about a hostile response?

Where is the environment of intellectual freedom that was supposed to accompany tenured teachers? Sure, dont say the "n-word" or use racial slurs if you're white, but you can do anything you please if you're an oppressed minority.

This is not new. Kids are forever dividing themselves into opposing tribes in order to hold small-scale wars amongst themselves. Remember "Soces" and "Greasers?" When I was in high school, kids spoke with straight faces about whether they were "preppies" or "scums." I'm talking about the mid-1990s and I'm not joking.

In that school, race has provided a convenient line to draw so they can have conflict. Not the first time for that one, either, by a long shot.

The kid probably should not have written that line. But he's a high school kid; they're supposed to be a little goofy. The science teacher is about as goofy, but he's supposed to be the responsible one. I didn't see any racial slurs unless you consider "ethnic-sounding" names racial slurs. Don't think we've gone that far yet.

I question why the school didn't just tell all the political clubs to do it on their own time, but if they're going to allow liberal causes to become school clubs I don't think they've left themselves much choice when the conservatives come knocking.

Neither Jamal or Mohammed stalked him and threatened him. Roving packs of hispanic utes were the perpetrators.

How dare he promote compliance with the law? And shame on teachers/administrators for squashing a "different" perspective."

This event is just more proof that the product of gov schools led by teacher's unions (worker's paradise and all that) is designed to be SHEEPLE (i.e. non-critical thinking persons looking to authority for the answers rather than themselves).

The only question is which group fits the definition "thug" more, the intimidating students or the indifferent teachers. This country is headed for rule by warlords. This is what happens when you diss Reason and encourage tribalism. One of these days everyone at that school will be shocked and surprised when a band of "vigilantes" or "milita" arrives to represent the other side.

mexifornia...coming to a state near you

if you are against "illegal immigration" in california..many will consider you a racist..many dont realize that mexico is running our state government..sad but true..in the near future the borders WILL be open..and 20 to 40+million "democratic voters" will stream in and make YOUR state look like mexico, and central america. (learn spanish-fast)

In 1994 prop 187 was demonized as "racist". Demonistrations had a sea of Mexican Flags in the streets. Makes one wonder where are the American Flags? Where are the Americans?

Thus the "bush push" for making "illegals" legal...the GOP wants them votes too. Illegals do not come here to be Americans..they come for jobs..our jobs.

    so much for "homeland security"

Some believe the War on Terror is a way to justify a crackdown on civil liberties. Others believe the "compassion" toward illegal immigration is way of fostering racial and ethnic division in this country, leading to the wholesale attack on "nativists" by Washington, D.C. If the citizens of California were to rise up and try to defend their state and oust illegals, you can bet that our own Government would take the side of illegals, not citizens. In fact, I'm betting that scenario will play out within Bush's next term.

    Predictions.

I think I've seen numbers that show the population of AridZone, New Mexico and Calif to be less that 50% "white" now. I'm thinking that the aforementioned states will vote themselves out of the USA and into Mexico or into some "paradise" that they themselves design and build. This new government will kick white folks and other non-Mexican folks out and take over such things as "Silicon Valley" and other American money maker industries.

Then the new folks will move into these company HQs and sit down and wait for the money to come rolling in. It will never dawn on the masses of those people that you have to know how to run industry to benefit from it.

This is pretty much what happened in the country in Africa that Robert Mugaby took over [can't think of the name] White farmers were making millions and feeding that country and many surrounding areas. About 2300 White farm families were booted out, killed, deported, whatever and the "oppressed" moved into the farms and are still waiting for the money to roll in as the nation and the surrounding area slowly starve. It'll soon be up to the American taxpayer to bail these people out and feed them, etc.

There is a great novel out describing what happens to America as PC takes over. It is a political comedy of the brain type not the slap-stick type. It is titled The Savaged States Of America written by Kevin Beary and available for ten bucks in paper back. The ISBN is 1-881355-04-7 copyrighted in 1998. It is labled "an In Qua Urbe book" and was subsidy published since it is definitely not PC. It tells of the last three days of the USA after women have been running everything for 50 years.

Hope my predictions and this book are dead wrong.

What he needs to do is START NAMING NAMES! When he asks for help from a teacher and is denied it . . . NAME HER. When a teacher calls him a nazi - PRINT THAT TEACHER'S NAME IN THE NEWSLETTER.

Scum like to hide behind a veil of anonymity - what he needs to do is shine the light of truth on them.

Better yet, there are some VERY compact video cameras being sold today - he should get one or more of his friends to covertly follow him around, and film the threats, denials of assistance, name calling by teachers, etc. Compile a tape, and then demand that the school start enforcing "zero tolerance" on EVERYONE.
That would be Zimbabwe. Do a search for "African Tears" on the web and you'll find a website that carries weekly updates from a woman named Cathy Buckle on that country's downward spiral into barbarism and famine. It's not pretty what's happening there, and the world is pretending nothing is happening . . . certainly the major news organizations aren't interested.

    What can we do?

To answer raven's excellent question about what we can do to change the system....

At this point, I'd say nothing. Sad but true. I'll be homeschooling my kids.

There would have been a different result if the victim had been a minority being persecuted by racist whites. In that case, if teachers had refused him aid and the staff had told him he'd better stay home for his own safety, the school district could have probably been sued. It would probably be a major news story too.

Spread the word. Shine some light. Turn up the heat.

On my e-mail list anti-antigunlobby@yahoogroups.com , the rule is one doesn't cross-post an article like this unless some activism is suggested and assisted with at the very least, some contact info...

Drive around in some of the larger southern California cities and may just see a bumper sticker that says...."F### you this is Mexico!"
