I took a CZ 52 to the range today with 3 types of ammo.
Thought I would review them so folks don't go out and waste money.
Winchester white box $9.50 per 50rnd box
85 grain FMJ From a rest 4 inch groups at 15 yards reliability was fine.
I found there were obvious differences in the amount of powder in each round, all functioned but some rounds had more recoil and flash.
Consistancy was not good and it caused wild flyers on each group.
Sellier and Bellot $9.95 per 50rnd box
85 Grain FMJ
Reliability and functioning were fine
The consistancy of this ammo beat winchester by a long shot
15 yard groups were under 2 inches and 25 yard groups were
2 1/2 to 3inches with no obvious flyers although three or four rounds
were touching per 5 shot group
Polish surplus in pink or brown wrapped paper ties with twine
cyrillic markings 7.62m.m. 60 ONNM
This surplus ammo is in circulation in failrly large quantities.
The guy charged $10 for 50
The ammo was corrosive.
Reliability was fine
groups at 15 yards were about 9 inches from a rest
Each fired case was split open 75% of the case length and showed massive deterioration.
Do not buy this stuff.
The S&B turned out to be the best in accuracy but it flung brass about 50 feet away compared to the winchester which dropped it just behind me.
It also seemed the S&B was loaded a little hotter.
Hope this helps
