I have spent the last month cruising shops in Florida. I've been hiding out from Kansas winter by hunting for ammo in other states, mostly Florida. I'm sorry to report the result is dismal. Visited some shops in Tampa today.....OUCH!!. Found 17HMR is only one store. They had Hornady 17gr V-Max, Norma 17gr, and CCI 17gr. Good news right? I discovered why they still had it on the shelf. With tax they charged $42.50 per 50. In another store, Browning 380 is marked $69.99 + tax; not long ago I paid $25. I did find some 17HMR at a Walmart for $17.50 and bought all 4 boxes. The clerk said it is rare to have it at all. Still too high, but beats $42.50. I did find, in two stores, a large stash of Norma Tac-22 for $9.99 per 50. Lats time I bought it, the price was just over $3. But, they had lots of it and I'm betting the price will come down. The Tac-22 shoots decent in two of my rifles and runs smoothly in my wife's pistol. Thought you guys would want to know.
