Wanted to get others opinions on this subject. Friend of mine sent this to me in an email and it kinda struck a nerve with me. I've been following the discussions about gun bans, but they are not only trying to take away weapons, they are trying to raise prices on ammunition to make it more difficult for the average shooter to purchase ammunition. I looked at this site and noticed that my home state of Kentucky is one of the states looking into this. If the act is passed, ammunition will be encoded before leaving the factory and this will track how much ammunition you buy and what calibers, after June 30, 2009, what ammunition is not encoded must be destroyed. here is a link to the site that I had recieved, http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm .

From the looks of it, they have figured out that they can not take our guns away from us, but they have this loop-hole. monitor the ammo, and raise the prices. I am planning to send a letter the Ky and see why they would allow this to happen. If I recieve word back I will be sure to include it in this post.

I also would like to know others opinions. Do you think this is unjust? Do you beleive that this will help with gun saftey? Let me know what you think.

Very old, seems dead for now.

It's one guy that holds a patent to a marking technology and he's desperately trying to make it go somewhere.
He's an idiot.

A few states looked at it over the last couple of years and it failed miserably.

For Kentucky it shows to be dead.

It didn't even make progress in Jersey or California.

It's an idea that is, fortunately, not going anywhere. Do a search in the General Gun Discussions and Legal forums and you'll pull back a lot of content where this has been hashed out.
