Just purchased this pistol at a local gun show, but I'm clueless, anybody own one? Is it accurate? any parts available? what do they sell for? only thing I can find is a broken one on GB. Any info would be appreciated.

One of our other members has one and he really seams to like it if I remember correctly. Since it's recoil operated, it's probably not as bad as the desert eagle. Still, be ready for some heavy recoil and expensive ammo.

Yep, thats for sure, guy did throw in 35 rnds. with the deal. Just getting the slide back requires great effort, it seems the recoil spring is about twice the rate of a .45.

pics,, anybody know anything about this one???

The AMT AutoMags I have and have had, are reliable and accurate but the .50 I haven't had the pleasure of playing with. My 2 9mm WinMags and the .45 WinMag were nice guns. I still have and shoot an AMT AutoMag III in 9mm WinMag on a regular basis. Hope yours is as much fun!

PS: I have gotten springs from Numrich fo my 9mm WinMags.

Quite he opposite. Both the AMT Automag V and LAR Grizzly Mk V belt harder than the Eagle.

The Desert Eagle truly does tame the round very effectively. Muzzle energy from a 6" DE and a 7.5" .454 Casull with top loads in either is nearly identical, and believe me, one can shooot the Eagle comfortably a whole lot longer.

And I know someone will badger me saying the Casull is more potent:

.50 AE, 325 gr. JHP, 27.5 grs. AA#7: 1,510 FPS, 1,646 ft/lbs

.454 Casull, 300 gr. JHP, 31.0 grs. H-110: 1,580 FPS, 1,663 ft/lbs

Loads that show the Casull Running 1,800+ ft/lbs are typically done from a 10" TC Contender.

Interesting. I don't know the AMT Automags too well though I handled one before years ago. I DID fire a .45 Win Mag LAR Grizzly long slide and the recoil was like any 1911. According to ZVIS.com, the shorter barrel LAR Grizzlies are the hardest kicking of all the Auto Mags and specifically noted the .45 Win Mag being worse then the .50AE. According to SAAMI, the .45 Win Mag is a higher pressure load then the .50AE.
Then again, the long slide LAR Grizzly comes with a slide mounted muzzle break and a nice and lengthy recoil draw.

Anything over 300grns, and flying 1500fps. mute point, destroyed is the outcome.

I have a AMT Automag .50AE that has a problem ejecting shells. The magazine drops about an 1/8 of an inch when fired causing the spent cartridge to jam. I have been looking for a magazine or 2 for years with no avail. If anyone knows where I might find one, please let me know. I like the gun, it shoots very well, I am just having a hard time finding parts. Any help would be appreciated,Thanks

45 WinMag

I have the grizzley in 45WM and I'll say what fun! I bought a comp for it a number of years ago. With a 240 gr bullet and 22 gr blue dot the chrono read 1803 FPS and lets not talk about the fireball. Can't hit'em with the bullet burn'em!!!

Maybe someday I'll get to fire an AutoMag.
