An almost semi-automatic and possible CA workaround?

Good suggestions. The parts kit assembly instructions have been posted and made available for download. Videos will take longer.

The only lockup is by the standard AR buffer and spring, along with the "pull" portion of the pump cycle. There is no bolt lock as in a pump shotgun. Unloading is accomplished simply by cycling the pump. I have thoughts of ways to add such a bolt lock, but it would require modifications to the lower receiver, and that would violate the overall intent to make the pump action modular to fit on SA ARs without needing modifications to do so. Adding it to the upper assembly would make it too clumsy to operate.

The AFG (or whatever the owner chooses as a front grip) will attach to a sliding shuttle inside the FF handguard via a short Picatinney rail for generic attachment. These reciprocate, and move the op rod which attaches to the bolt carrier. The op rod attachment to the bolt carrier allows a "push pull" operation for more control and reliable bolt lockup. I hope this helps clarify things.

Seems to me this would be an "openbolt" type firearm, and the BATF really really truly HATES open bolt guns in the hands of peons. It may be technically legal (or not....I don't know the particulars) but I think you might have federal problems, not to mention any with California.
This has nothing to do with firing from an open bolt. The bolt release is not the sear and there is no fixed firing pin.

As I said earlier, my conclusion of it being an openbolt gun was based on a misunderstanding and was incorrect....several posts have dealt with this. Fixed firing pins have nothing necessarily to do with openbolt guns; the 1921 and 1928 Thompson SMGS were openbolt and did not have fixed firing pins....or atleast that's what I think you mean when you state "durung" pin.
