another CVA Scout

Nice! The Scout is under rated IMO. It is a simple rifle, decently accurate, great trigger, not too heavy and relatively inexpensive. And break down for packing also.

Is that one blued or nitride?

box say blue but it looks like black nitride to me

walked it in with 145gr fmj Winchester at 100 yards then checked to see where the American whitetail 170gr interlock 20231028_163229.jpg

the Bushnell scope had an internal come apart on me so I bargained a little with a shooting buddy and got one of his spare Redfield scopes from him, still a 3-9×40 but it has better glass in it, at the moment I've got it loaded with a Winchester 150gr Deer season XP, out of a 20" barrel it's running around 2300fps and lay down 1750+ ftlbs of ke, I've tried catching this round 3 different times without success, it will turn the first water jug into confetti and fill the second jug full of shrapnel but I figure it will be devastating on a high shoulder shot on a deer.

Hard not to like a good break open single shot. Don’t have a scout, but sure wouldn’t turn my nose up at one!

Nice rig, my man. Time to put some meat in the freezer!

I have a 300 Blackout and a 35 Remington. They are nicer than the old H&R Handi rifles IMO. The triggers are certainly better.
