Anderson just came out with their version of a G19.3. There so many out there, so the question is do I bother with a clone or just go OEM. I may save some money going with a clone depending on what one chooses, but is there really a difference? I understand the appeal of customizing and building a pistol. So if one goes that route, which do you get? PSA dagger, Anderson, or piece together one with all the after market options?

Id say go with OEM, at this point in time anyways. Even LE trade or used ones have served me well.
There are still new old stock Gen 3s out there for less than 500 all in. To me that is very little investment for the service life you get out of it (which they have proven over the last 30-40 years) and the clones havn't proven anything yet, other than they are copies.

Depends on your goal.

Building is fun. But for serious use, OEM is tough to beat.

The budget options like Anderson and PSA will fall into the same category as any other new budget gun. NOT the legendary duty use category like Glock.

I'm not much of a Glock fan, but even I understand they are great guns. I'd have to have a safe full of Glock's before I rolled the dice on a "clone".

I'd always choose the Glock over the clone.

There are used Glocks everywhere relatively cheap. What advantage do you get with a clone? I've seen some of the lower frames with a different shape to it that appeals to some.

I appreciate the input! I agree that saving $100 or so probably isn’t worth a gamble on the time tested original. I’m don’t really need another 9mm, but I’m considering Glock for range play and for a night stand weapon.

I look at clones as being better, personally

I much prefer my Zevs and Shadow Systems over Glock. Granted they are more expensive

There are multiple places selling real glocks, granted they are police trade ins, but for less money than some aftermarket clone.

Sorry but Anderson doesn't have the most stellar record of producing firearms.

TrueShot is giving 2 away, just go to their site and enter to win.

I've got 2 clones (a Dagger and a Polymer 80 - both G19 size), and 2 real Glocks (a Gen4 G17 and a Gen3 G22). While the clones shoot fine, if I wanted an actual "working gun" I'd still get the real thing - or an M&P (which I like better than Glocks). If money is a problem get a LE trade-in - they're relatively inexpensive.

FWIW, that Anderson arms uses a SCT frame, which Aim Surplus and Brownells both have for $49.95. If I wanted to play around with building I'd do that before buying a pre-built one from Anderson.

I have built several 80% clones and still use OEM Glock parts in them for the best reliability. Aftermarket frames are one thing, but I have yet to find aftermarket internal parts that are as good as Glock parts.

Personally, I think about the only way you could come up with a gun as ugly, or uglier, than a Glock is for someone to make a Glock clone.

Why anybody would want to do that is beyond me.

I say if you want a Glock, go buy a Glock and none of it's knock off clones trying to use it's reputation as their own too, lol

However, if you want something else that isn't a Glock and not a knock off, then go buy one of the other strikers like S&W, HK, Sig, etc.

Also, it's not as if Glocks are high dollar guns.

This may be the golden age of striker 9s. I see many aftermarket triggers, barrels and slides for Glocks out there, so clearly some feel there is room for improvement on perfection. It is not unusual for "clones" to be an improvement in some areas, as Tanfoglio was after CZ added safety mechanisms that degraded trigger action. Try them out, then do what makes you happy.

The mentality here is ridiculous. Glock is the base design, just like Colt 1911’s are. There are clones of the Colt that are much, much nicer.

Sane with the CZ75 design. Some clones are way nicer and higher quality.

It’s no different with Glock, trust me.

Not sure what the disconnect is other than people just don’t have experience.
