Just picked up this used Ruger super Blackhawk in 44 mag. I'm telling you these things just keep popping up in my safe. Love big bores. Have to wait for a 41 mag none have them in stock local. And I don't order online. If I can't see hold it I want do it. IMG_20200523_183632.jpg

Looks like a bisley frame. Nice choice. I like it over the plow handle myself.

Always like stainless steel too. Just a great working finish.

Edited to correct: upon closer inspection, that is not a Bisley. Still, a very nice hogleg

Man that’s nice.... Gifted the Talo Bisely version of that (black grips/not sure of other differences) to a good friend I fly fish with who also horse packs in the Wyoming Wind Rivers Range. Put it in a Ross cross draw lined holster and hand loaded 100 practice loads & 100 hard cast bear loads for him (Winds have grizzly in them).

I gotta say I was having second thoughts on the way to his house to drop it of.

That's what I thought at first, that it was a Bisley grip frame. But when I looked at it again I didn't think it had the same shape a Bisley has. Maybe it's a regular Super Blackhawk grip frame with slightly oversized grips on it.

Was just wondering if that was a regular Super Blackhawk grip frame with oversized grips on it or if it was a Bisley grip frame.

Where are y'all seeing a Bisley? Have looked many times at the photo and its still a Blackhawk grip frame.

Nice grips, by the way. So many makers make good looking grips and then add that blamed medallion, then complain about the "billboard" on the barrel.

Not a Bisley grip frame, or a Bisley hammer. But the grip panels do drop below the bottom of the grip frame and come together, to form a Bisley-esque grip. I wouldn't be surprised if the back of the grip frame had been reduced some how.

The base pin in not original, and the front sight may have been filed down somewhat. So it's not exactly stock, but quite possibly a better shooter for it.

It's a good looking gun. I have no idea what is going on with the grips. It's not a plowhandle and it's not a Bisley. I hope the OP will put us out of our misery.
