Another Issue at the Mexican Border

I hope

that afterwards the dead American children will be honored for their sacrifice in finally waking Americans up to the fact we are in a war of culture.

If the chechens attacked a US school, they would really be in for it.

What'chya gonna do brother, when the super powers combine and their power runs wild on you!?

*rips off his shirt*

If this happened, wonder where they are now.

I simply cannot see why W refuses to ignore the border.

I hope the story is hype but there is no excuse for this kind of thing to even be remotely possible. I'm praying the story is hype.

This is America. No way securing the borders cannot be done.

BTW---what have the Russians done? Not much that I have seen except Putin consolidated more power. I'm surprised no retaliation has happened.

While they (NeoCon Repubs) crow about elections in A-stan, Chechens and ME terrorist may be creeping into our country via our open borders.

It's "Catch 22" crazy.

I've read other stories such as this where our officials appear to be aware of terrorists who are trying to get into our country. Meanwhile their "most wanted" posters are a dream list of people who will likely never attempt to come here, bosses managing from afar. Seems our government does not desire our assistance in spotting these infiltrators because we are not being allowed to see what pictures of them look like.

This may sound radical to some..

Im sure some here would agree. What wrong with landmines on the border? They work pretty good to keep people from crossing right? Why all tha catch and release? This ain't fishing!

This story can't possible be true, not with all the steps President Bush has taken with his good friend President Fox to control the border. I don't have the details at hand on the specific steps he and his counterpart in Mexico have taken, but I know that given we're at war there is no way Bush would have let that border remain open and uncontrolled.

While scouting for deer in the Mule Mountains (a little west of Bisbee) here in AZ, my hunting partner and I saw tons of tracks from Mexicans, along with all sorts of litter, including back packs. There were probably more Mexicans that went through there than deer. It would not surprise me in the least if those Chechens went through that exact area. There's noone for miles to catch you and plenty of cover if you here a helicopter coming.

What wrong with landmines on the border?

There's nothing wrong with land mines; unfortunately, it would take courage to order that or any other measure to defend the nation's borders, and that's been in short supply since... Well, since... Well, I guess since Moby Dick was a minnow.

I don't know how they managed to I.D. these people. We can't even stop hundreds of people from crossing everyday, how in the world were we able to I.D. 25?

It is worse than hundreds per day. Current estimates range from 3,000 to 8,000 per day cross the southern border daily. Most that have looked at this believe that the higher figure is closer to reality. In Arizona alone it is over 1,000 per day.

I agree and the total in country is higher then estimated, the cost and
harm to the economy via schools, hospitals is frightening more so then
terriost threats in some respects.:(

We seen the same stuff when I was out in the mountains south of Arivaca.

Its even worse near Sassabee.

Its an invasion down here folks.

In a nutshell, because his millionaire buddies need a constant supply of illegal (excuse me, "undocuented") aliens because they don't like to pay even minimum wage to the people who cut their grass and mop their floors.

It's a boomtown here in Charlotte, and the Mexican population is growing exponentially...

Which is a good thing because they're building all of the new homes. It started here in the South years ago, when no black or white folk would work in the fields, cotton and tobacco.

I've talked to a lot of the contractors here, and they just can't find non-Mexican folk to build ("They just always take off to go fishin'").

It's also probably dropped the price of a new house by 25%!

Closed borders? Paging Stalin...

This is America. No way securing the borders cannot be done.

Am I the only person that sees irony in this statement? Let's just craft a big, bronze M16 for Lady Liberty to sling over her shoulder! Land mines and fencing at the border? Hell, lets just build a tall concrete wall around the nation with a variety of entry checkpoints (Charlie?) featuring armed soldiers...

"Protecting" the United States while redefining America is starting to annoy me."

Let's hope so.

You've missed the mark by a wide margin.

All countries have a need to define their borders, both from a moral and legal standpoint. There's nothing remotely Stalinist about the concept, which has been around for eons.

You might want to recall that the border guards, fencing, and landmines around the perimeter of the USSR were all designed to keep people from leaving that police state, not keep terrorists, criminals, and huge swarms of economic migrants out.

Not to mention dropping the wages of the American workers by around 75%.

And, your housing cost my be lower initaially, but your local taxes will go up correspondingly in order to pay for medical care for the illegal Mexican workers that the construction company that built your discount house refused to insure.

Strange, it's driving the cost of a new home here in the Washington D.C. area up by around 20% per year.

What, illegal immigration? I doubt many cholos are living in $600K homes in Fairfax county.

There are plenty of folks down here spending that kind of money on MacMansions, but the money saved in the construction is added to the developer's margin, always fat at the high end.

Besides, why would anyone want to live near Rt. 1, truly one of the ugliest strip mall locations in the country! (Sorry, I've got ex in-laws in Alexandria. :uhoh: )
