I have looked at the other threads and none cover this subject.

I went to purchase a shotgun for dove season last year. I got delayed. The gun store owner calls me a few days later and says that I was denied. I appeal the denial and go through all of the process with the NICS/FBI, fingerprints, the further b/g check. Turns out I had two unpaid traffic tickets that had resulted in warrants :what::eek:

So, now I have those taken care of, the warrants recalled, nothing else barring me from purchase.

Do I need to resubmit to the FBI for clearance before I try to buy another firearm, or can I just go in, fill out the forms, and, after the inevitable 3-day delay, walk out with a new shotgun for turkey?

I would think just go in and try the buy again. I am not an FFL though. I mean the most that is going to happen is your going to be delayed by the length of time it takes for the NICS to come back. I don't think another NICS denial would hurt anything in the future.

Also you said you appealed the first denial. Well to appeal an action, the action you are appealing has to happen first anyway.

I don't know where you are, but in Georgia you have to have the GCIC database updated, and then have the FBI database updated. You see, they will automatically forward all the crap-information to GCIC and then the FBI/NICS, but they won't automatically forward corrections! You have to get a letter from the ORIGINAL reporting agency on agency letterhead that says you are cleared of this supposed limitation, and send it to GCIC. They will update their database. THEN you send a copy of the same letter to the FBI. If you do the FBI first, they will simply recheck the state database (where it has not been corrected) and keep you DENIED.

I could see the "correct the database" with convictions. With warrants though, once they are recalled, they should automagically disappear. Right?

Any thoughts or input from LEO would be nice.
