Another primer thread... along with some good news!

I will bet you a sleeve (100) primers of your choice from my inventory that they will still be difficult to find a month from now. Maybe by 2023, we might see them become available in quantity, hopefully with more attractive prices.
I’m bad at wagering, always a loser never a winner. Here the deal…. they (vista) will release all the primers at 1 time. It’s going to happen fast.

If it happens it will most likely be because all of the backorders and obligatory contracts are satisfied and Vista's holdings have available inventory. Until the orders from 2019 forward - military, police, departmental and distributorships - are filled, there won't be any "surplus" inventory and the retailers won't be able to restock. But, it is possible Vista et. al. will "suddenly" fill the last orders and redirect manufacturing to consumer secondary markets. It could happen.

I don’t think we’ll see anything sudden. It’ll be gradual, maybe glacial, and may already be happening. I think it is.

Like gasoline prices and other recent price and supply chain issues. Things bind up then come loose without any specific reason to point to. If there was a specific identifiable cause and effect, planned economies would work, no?

like the positive attitude!!!

Guys are about done restocking and hoarding so that should make for availability.
Well, not quite...I've been waiting for prices to moderate before I start hoarding. That said...my reloading components shelf is full, and I have 2 crates filled with various powders, and 2 bin drawers filled with overflow primers, and other nooks and crannies with powders that wouldn't fit on the shelf or in the bins. But I'm ready to start hoarding now.

Didn't notice any previous response.

LGS - Local (you define what's local) Gun Shop. Common abbreviation for your regular, drive or walk to component shop. No shipping, no HazMat.

Thank you but I was asking the guy who bought his srp for $65/K if he got them from a LGS.

More like; I don’t trust the Government, Supply Chain, Bill Gates, dog next door, airport “vapor trail”… So I stock my life with things I need and want, incase!
We still call a couple shelves in our basement our “Y2K” shelves. Before that it was just a pantry. Put up the stores and be prepared for the famine as Joseph said and did.

Nah. I don’t worry about trivial stuff. More like, the store is a half hour drive when the roads are empty in perfect weather which is never. So we stock up and rotate for those days when the roads are flooded, the panicked masses have emptied the stores and the news is predicting doom-n-gloom. It’s amazing how otherwise sensible people suddenly turn into slack jawed idiots just because it’s raining.

Freezers are a wonderful invention. :)
