Powder and Primers at LGS

I'm in NW Florida. Stock has been limited like everywhere else, but my LGS hasn't gone above $0.07 per when they get primers in.

Powder had also stayed below $40/lb.

Pretty much the same here in Eastern/Central IA. Shoot, the local Scheels has had at least half of their primer case full of CCI #41's, 450's, or 400's for 3 weeks now. Powder is still selling out fast.

Where was this?!
I'm pretty sure @blackd24 said before he was in RI but, that there's a pretty small state and there's lot of places around it that sell gun stuff, too. Which is why I asked, too. It's going to be in the NE, most likely but WHERE in the NE is the question.

This is central PA - my dad went today. As the pandemic has gone on, primer prices have increased but they have kept powder prices in normal range. There are 2-3 gun shops that stock reloading supplies and the shop where these items were purchased has been in business since my dad bought his 22 rifle in the 70s. I think they get priority over some other shops.

The gun store at the indoor range got powder and primers in because so many people were asking. CCI large pistol primers for $180/brick. I told the guy behind the counter I wasn't desperate enough to buy at that price but thanks for getting them in. A week later they were gone. Somebody's buying even at that price.
A lot of what is happening sorry to say is SOME shooters are screwing the rest of us. A guy at the range was bragging about he found 10 bricks of small rifle primers at $60 eac and bought them ALL. He only owns handguns. Now is selling them for $100 a brick.

My LGS hasn't had powder or primers PERIOD since January. He even broke down and BOUGHT ammo. (I cast & reload) and quit going to the range except for skeet. I'm pretty well stocked on Shot supplies, but down to less than a thousand on my handgun primers and can't find Accurate #7 PERIOD. even on line. We live in the Panhandle.

I found powder just last week for 30.00 a pound. Ramshot Magnum. I wanted Reloader 22 but I'm not complaining.
Had some longshot I wanted as well but left it for someone else.
Primers are like finding a diamond in a goat's butt here in Colorado

I'm in Pensacola, if you're anywhere near there. I'll run by my LGS today to see what they have, if anything.

Something to consider - a lot of gun stores haven’t sold as much as they would have over the past year because they couldn’t get inventory. I bought around 5k primers at the very beginning of the pandemic for $30 per 1000. I wish primers were still at that price and that availability.

I'll go play golf, they can choke on those prices .

If I buy primers at $90 per 1000, what’s $60? Your round of golf and beer…

I drove across counties a few weeks ago for some "whatever I could find". Found some 700x (a compromise), H4350, 4064, Varget, more what I can use. I was really looking for Unique. If there is powder its 1lb'ers in my WI local. $35-$40.
I found some small rifle primers at Cabelas of all places. Large pistol at the LGS and paid $19each. They are good to me so I didn't mind.

I found it odd that over the last several months that the one common thing I seen left behind for brass and bullets has been the ole .270Winch. I load for it on leap years so it stayed put. Ordered some higher priced Meister 45LC hardcast from Midway.

So far around here its really not any better. You would think that the big box clothing stores with buying power would have more powder/components then the small reloader supply stores. Nope.

There is always golf however I do prefer louder irons.

Out here we use the same irons for golf as for deer. :)

Bad as my eyesights getting, and the arthritis and the shakes from nerve damage, my golf game is suffering badly. I may have to get closer to the ball. :(
